Asus PA248Q review: Asus PA248Q

The Asus PA248Q doesn't quite match last year's PA246Q in performance, but that's to be expected. The PA246Q sported a more expensive panel capable of displaying more colors.

The Asus PA248Q is a low-priced IPS monitor that doesn't skimp on performance or features.

The Asus PA248Q offers very good performance, useful OSD features, ample ergonomic options, and an impressive assortment of connections; Its sub-$350 price is icing on an already tasty cake.

The monitor can't duplicate the high color performance of its predecessor.

Wonderful Monitor

I was forced to un-plug my NAS server from the VGA port because the monitor would switch to it each time my main computer went to sleep. Not a deal killer, not even worth loosing a star, but annoying non the less.

As a semi-pro digital photographer you get cursed to notice monitor color incorrectness; You can work ages to get your photo just right, then realize that it's off because the monitor you used was off.

There is one minor annoyance to me with this monitor; If the current input goes dead (for instance, when your computer sleeps) it will automatically search for another input

A fantastic monitor at a great price

When the Asus PA248Q 24 inch LED IPS monitor arrived overnight on my doorstep (You have to love Amazon Prime) I recieved a much better monitor than expected. The monitor is packaged very well and arrived as expected. There are good reviews on it. Let me add a few things that I never saw listed.

Worth single penny spent on it

Extremely vivid colours and low backlight bleeding are amongst many pros of this monitor. Its 16:10 aspect ratio makes internet browsing pleasurable and with connection to my TV box through another one of the inputs, I can watch BR films and HD channels without quality loss.

Excellent IPS monitor for accurate photo-editing

I got this because I wanted accurate colors for photo editing and mainly because I realized how poor the viewing angles and colors were with my Samsung T220HD (has a TN panel). My decision for a good IPS panel boiled down to 2 choices - this PA248Q model or the smaller PA238QR.

Overall a great monitor even though it's style is rather bland. It was time to replace my LG L246WP and this is the perfect replacement as I could never accept a 1080P monitor.

Great screen

Ho hum style; lack of HDMI cable
