A very good lens with exceptional colors. Clear clarity. This lens recommends for potrait and for a beautiful landscape.

I always love how 85mm looks for portraits. This one is my favorite 85 for canon system. I prefer this lens to the heavy & sluggish big brother (f/1.2)-though the 85/1.2 is an exceptional lens. It's fast enough for almost everything. It has the goodness of an 85 lens.

If you want that beautiful mottled effect on your photographs (the experts call it Bokeh ;0)...On the right setting this will present you with that dreamy effect perfectly. Also perfect for portraits.
Rather than testing Canon's f/1.8 lens we might have looked at the f/1.2L version instead – were it not for the £2,640 price tag. This is a mind-bogglingly hefty sum that puts the lens well out of reach for most photographers.

THIS LENS was purchased to fill the gap between my 50mm macro and 100mm macro lenses and in a few months has replaced the 100mm as my go-to short telephoto of choice. It's image quality, moderate focal length and significantly smaller size compared to the 100 are the main factors in this shift.
While it's a shame that picture and sound quality haven't been upgraded, the iPhone 13 was great in these regards and the iPhone 14 is, too Excellent display Admirable headphone performance Solid build quality No upgrades to picture or sound Familiar design Notch is still present
Apple's latest non-Pro iPhone is superb - it's just that it's strikingly similar to last year's effort.
Still an incredible smartphone, Brilliant battery life gets a bit better, Excellent camera system gets a bit better
Last year’s Pro hardware, Wireless charging slow by modern standards, No USB-C; it’s now well overdue
Far cheaper than Canon's f/1.2 equivalent, but still a mighty good performer for a more than reasonable price

Gary Wolstenholme reviews the medium telephoto Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 USM Interchangeable lens.
Excellent sharpness; Virtually no distortion; Low CA levels; Fast auto focus
No lens hood supplied
The Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 USM is a very desirable lens and, surprisingly, a very affordable one. Both contrast and resolution are very good straight from f/1.8 and excellent at medium aperture settings. On APS-C DSLRs there's only a moderate degree of vignetting at f/1.8 and beyond it's a non-issue.
