Fujifilm X-T3 promises epic action autofocus and more for the money

Edge-to-edge AF points, 11fps continuous shooting and 10-bit DCI 4K video in-camera for $1,500. Fujifilm packs the X-T2's successor with a ton of new capabilities for the money. The X-T3 boasts a new 26-megapixel backside-illuminated (BSI) version of the company's CMOS X-Trans 4 sensor, with millions of phase-detection autofocus points that cover the entire frame; the ability to record 10-bit Cinema 4K/30p video to SD card (albeit in 4:2:0 H.265); a bump from a dual-core X-Processor image-processing engine to quad core for improved performance for operations like continuous shooting and applying its film simulations; and more.

Fujifilm has found many fans since it launched its X-series of compacts and interchangeable-lens cameras, and the fourth-generation X-T3 is a significant step forward for the company.
Pros:
  • Excellent image quality
  • Solid autofocusing performance
  • Very good electronic viewfinder
Cons:
  • Some fringing in EVF
  • Dials can be knocked easily
  • Viewfinder eyecup can obstruct LCD view

While it might not be perfect, the Fujifilm X-T3 is an impressive value for still shooters and videographers alike. Fuji didn't pull any punches with it, appointing it with an awesome new engine and a few nifty extras.
Pros:
  • With a new 26-megapixel X-Trans CMOS image sensor and the new X-Processor 4
  • the Fujifilm X-T3 processes
  • focuses
  • tracks
  • and transfers dramatically faster than its predecessor
  • the X-T2.
Cons:
  • It's hard to complain about a camera that, at $1,500, comes with this many bells and whistles and pro-quality features for photographers and videographers need
  • But there are a couple of flaws.

Fujifilm currently has a solid lineup of APS-C mirrorless cameras to suit pretty much any type of photographer, and a few months ago, it added a new model to its roster that might just be its best offering yet. We're taking about the Fujifilm X-T3, which is a followup to 2016's X-T2.
Pros:
  • Weather-resistant and rugged body
  • Exhaustive feature set
  • Great performance for stills and video
  • Decent battery life
  • Dual SD card slots
Cons:
  • Metering dial can be tricky to use
  • Tracking in videos is limited to faces
  • Clunky smartphone app

Another 2018 show-stopper, the X-T3 noticeably improves on its predecessor in nearly every way. Packing a brand new 26.1MP APS-C BSI sensor and fast X-Processor 4 configuration allows for some amazing feats.
