Cons:

- Price is hard to justify

The Huawei P40 Pro offers a very compelling package of cameras, in fact, the combination of high-quality ultra-wide, wide-angle, and 5x telephoto cameras are an excellent set of cameras to have on a smartphone.
Pros:
- Excellent cameras
- True 5x telephoto camera
- Great screen
- with 90Hz refresh
- Impressive image stabilisation for video
- Faster fingerprint recognition
Cons:
- Doesn't feature Google Play
- Your favourite apps may not be available
- 50x digital zoom is terrible
- No headphone socket

If someone thought Huawei was done after Google cut them off - they were wrong. The Mate 30 and the P40 series are here to prove that there is a life after Google, and it's not as bad as you might think initially.

With the P40 Pro, Huawei has once again released an excellent camera smartphone and most likely even the best camera phone available right now. However, the drawbacks do not stem from the hardware but rather the software.
Pros:
- spectacular camera setup
- color-accurate 90-Hz OLED display
- fast Wi-Fi 6 and 5G
- expandable storage
- supports hybrid SIM and eSIM
- very good call quality
- USB 3.1 with HDMI/dP
- IP68-certified
Cons:
- no DRM certification
- no aptX or aptX HD
- display could have offered more brightness reserves
- no Google services
- weak speakers
- no barometer

The Huawei P40 Pro has a great smartphone camera that delivers impressively high-quality images in conditions that other cameras would struggle. However, the current situation between Google and Huawei means that you can't use many of the apps you'd take for granted on other phones.
Pros:
- Excellent performance in the default settings
- High-quality video with good stabilisation even in 4K mode
- Superb night-mode that delivers sharp images in challenging conditions

- Limited range of apps available
- The longest digital zoom settings are best avoided

It really is to bad that Huawei is facing the current obstacles they are with the Google restrictions currently in effect. The Huawei P40 Pro is an outstanding phone from design and performance to (especially) the camera.
Pros:
- Sleek design, 90Hz OLED screen, Outstanding camera, 5G support, Great battery life, Reverse charging (wireless power share), Huawei Histen sound effects work well, Can get most Android apps to work one way or another, Includes clear case and earbuds
Cons:
- No Google Play Store/GMS, AppGallery needs more popular apps, Uses proprietary Nano Memory card for storage expansion, Front camera cutout isn't ideal for some games, Canadian price/availability unknown
