A fairly good headset
My experience with the Logitech ClearChat Comfort USB Digital Headset has, thus far, been a relatively positive one. It is a case of “You get what you pay for” – It's no $100 headset, but there again, it's definately not a cheap one either. The audio quality is good, but not fantastic. In my opinion, I can't really tell too much of an increase in performance from my other headset which was not USB on my rather budget soundcard. I find that when using the microphone there is a lot of background noise, not related to anything going on around me, which is not too good. The sound quality of the micrphone is very good though, it comes out really clear apart from the background noise from this “noise cancelling microphone.” I find that the headset is relatively comfortable to wear, I have to take it off about once every hour or so, to give my ears a rest; I feel that it fits probably just a bit too tightly, but it's not too bad. Another thing that I find different, not necessarily negative though, is that the microphone is on the left hand side. I'm not sure what the norm is, but I know my old one was on the right side, so it has taken a bit of getting used to. The headset itself looks rather nice, and has a padded top, which prevents any pain from being caused to the top of the head after prolonged wearing. In all though, a good headset, and I would recommend to anybody who is thinking about getting a USB headset; you will not find much better than this, at this price. It really is worth every cent. 4/5 Stars. Good, but not quite pushing that excellence boundary.
