Bought this camera about 1 month ago learning to use it love love it. I also have a d3500 dslr I love Nikon products. This p1000 is clear sharp and captures wildlife for me and flowers which is what I love to shoot. It is amazing so far and will be even more amazing as I learn it better.
I bought this as a Christmas presents and its broken. I'm not back from holidays until the 3rd of Jan so all the memories my daughter was going to capture is gone.
Some glitches with the App connectivity but the zoom is amazing
I've had a bit better than a week with this camera. The small sensor struggles in low light but is really quite good in adequate light. Where or how else can you get a continuous zoom in/out on a scene with such range.
Purchased a month ago, and had owned the P900 before this, and besides the bigger size and weight over the P900, (it's big) the improvements over it are worth the extra cost, the zoom is epic, great pics, features and easy to use.
If you're a flat earther, or simply want to see what stars look like up close without any of that fake CGI rubbish that NASA produces, then you'll want to get this camera (or the Nikon Coolpix P900 – which is quite a lot cheaper, but it does have less zoom).
Incredibly good zoom. Slow focus.
Brilliant camera. Lots of different features, easy to use. Connects to app on smart phone. Easy to use, brilliant 150x optical zoom.
The P1000 is a loveable beast and an optical marvel, but it's difficult to recommend. Max zoom is rarely required in real world shooting, and the optic necessitates a small sensor with underwhelming image quality.
Stunning zoom range; Good EVF; Excellent image stabilisation; 4K video and RAW photos
Average image quality; Poor low light performance; Big and heavy; Focusing and VR struggle at extreme zoom
