Nikon D5100 DSLR (11734)
I got the 5100 when it first came out. I love it. Here's the bottom line with DSLR cameras....there are two versions...FX and DX. FX are full frame and DX are a smaller frame size. FX are pro cameras and usually much more expensive. This one, like the 3100, 7000, 7100 and others are DX.
Pros:
- Picture quality
- Available accessories
- Nikon community
- Available lenses
Cons:
- None

An ideal dslr for a diffident starter like me.Looks sturdy & user-friendly,and to cap it all not intimidating with complicated operations.Appears to be a great purchase.

but this camera is a great camera.
I like more the way that LCD articulates in D5000, allowing more angles of photo; also, D5100 has no grid to align my pictures... but this camera is a great camera.

Why no firmware update to support AF-P lenses
Why no firmware update to support AF-P lenses Seems like an easy and friendly gesture from Nikon, but I guess any work to support older products is not forthcoming. Do not buy (it's outdated anyway).

Nikon D5100
Nikon started the D-SLR video recording revolution back in 2008 with the Nikon D90 ($899.95, 4 stars). Thanks to its large, APS-C image sensor, with 370mm2 surface area, the video captured by this digital camera and its successors was so good that pros have used Nikon D-SLRs to film commercials and...
Pros:
- Superb still image and video quality
- Excellent low-light shooting capability
- Sharp, articulating LCD
- Continuous autofocus during Live View shooting
- Lots of useful in-camera effects
Cons:
- Continuous autofocus in Live View is slow
- Some lens noise when autofocusing in video mode

Nikon D5100: Review
The Nikon D5100 is an important step forward in the history of SLR cameras. Make available, in an entry-level price, features and qualities typical of more expensive models and semi-professional. Just think of the 16 mega pixel sensor and, above all, the high quality in the images it captures.
Pros:
- Image quality
- features and specifications semiprofessional
Cons:
- We would have preferred a greater customization of the buttons

Nikon D5100 DSLR Camera
I usually don't take out my Nikon D5100 for heavy duty or casual purposes. That's because it is high resolution DSLR and I am totally in love with it. You can say I am very possessive about this first ever DSLR I ever bought. Even a bit possessive perhaps.
