Nintendo 3DS XL

Nintendo loves revising its handheld game systems -as opposed to sticking with one design for the life of the system. The Game Boy went through several iterations before it was replaced by the Game Boy Advance, which itself was upgraded to the Game Boy Advance SP.
Pros:
  • Big, beautiful screen
  • Solid build
  • Comfortable to hold
Cons:
  • Glasses-free 3D still has issues
  • System transfer process is convoluted

Nintendo 3DS XL Review – Bigger is better

Bigger screen, weightier feel and curved lines mean the 3DS XL is an improvement over the original 3DS. Still needs a second analog stick.

Nintendo 3DS XL

When we reviewed the original Nintendo 3DS in March 2011 we thought that the lack of decent launch titles and limited battery life were its two biggest woes. But its believable, glasses-free 3D display - well, for some viewers, but not all - was an interesting prospect.
Pros:
  • Better battery life than original 3DS
  • large 4.88-inch screen
  • can be used as a 2D device
  • enough decent games now available
  • more affordable than original 3DS was at launch
Cons:
  • No power charger included!
  • same resolution as 3DS
  • the 3D mode won't be for everyone
  • is the age of the handheld console and pricey games challenged by smartphones and tablets

Review: Nintendo 3DS XL

Smoother, sleeker and more pleasing in the hands. Nintendo has done a good job of tweaking the Nintendo 3DS.
Pros:
  • Fits nicely in your hands
  • Visually more pleasing than the 3DS
  • Bigger screen offers a noticeable improvement
Cons:
  • Not compatible with Circle Pad Pro
  • Charger sold separately

When bigger is better

I didn't think I'd say this, but the 3DS XL has a lot more going for it than merely a larger screen. The larger body fits more comfortably in the hand, battery life is a lot better and the build quality feels a lot more solid than the original 3DS.
Pros:
  • Larger screen makes portable gaming way more comfortable than on the original 3DS
  • nice design and build quality
Cons:
  • Most 3DS casings and accessories will not fit the 3DS XL

Nintendo 3DS XL Review

For the second time since its North American release on March 27, the Nintendo 3DS will undergo a significant change. The first of these changes occurred just four months after its release and saw the price drop from $250 to $170, a move that attracted a wave of new adopters, but also brought heavy...

Nintendo 3DS XL review

It shouldn't come as a surprise to see Nintendo launch a new 3DS revision less than 18 months after the original console - after all, the company waited almost exactly the same length of time...

A Lovely Piece of Equipment!

In my opinion, the 3DS XL is a wonderful device. The picture is clear and crisp, the console itself is easy to navigate and to play. Holding it, unlike previous versions such as the Nintendo DS Lite is very comfortable and the user can look forward to hours of gaming enjoyment, from a wide variety...
Pros:
  • The 3D adjustment
  • great picture and easy to use
Cons:
  • Not great sound quality

Good, but 3d hurts my eyes

I love the system and the game...but I keep the 3d off. I find it hard to actually view it from the right angle to even get the 3d effect anyway. They are making a 2ds (because I think this 3d fad is finally going away), but get the 3ds anyway...since it can fold away.

Nintendo 3DS XL Review

The Nintendo 3DS XL is a nice handheld gaming system. The 3D screen works very well considering you don't have to wear glasses to view it in 3D. It has a 3D slider to increase/decrease the 3D effects. You can turn it off if you do not like it, but then you basically have a Nintendo DS XL.
Pros:
  • Easy To Set Up
  • Easy to Use
  • Efficient
  • Quality Construction
  • Reliable
