Nokia Asha 302: The perfect first phone.
I believe that Samsung and Nokia produce the most reliable mobile phones, so bearing this in mind, at the end of last year I bought the Nokia Asha 302, as it was cheap, looked sturdy and had a blackberry style keyboard, which I preferred to the touch screen.

Good, low cost qwerty phone
Replacement for my wife's previous Nokia Asha 302 - the speaker died just out of warranty period. Its getting hard to find qwerty tactile key pad phones so choice was limited and she already knew her way around this phone.
