Nokia Lumia 800 review: New beginnings

It will take crowds erupting in delight to silence the ring of the "burning platform" speech in the Nokia Lumia 800's ears. The speaker being Nokia CEO Stephen Elop and the burning platform Symbian. As Nokia are starting over, the Lumia 800 would do well not to look back.

Cons:
  • Display is much dimmer than the N9's display
  • No Flash or Silverlight support in browser
  • No USB mass storage (file management and sync pass only through Zune

Review: Nokia Lumia 800

The Lumia 800 is the first lovechild birthed from the union of Microsoft and Nokia. The two companies entered into a happy alliance in February 2011, with Nokia saying it would ship the bulk of its forthcoming handsets loaded with the Windows Phone mobile operating system.
Pros:
  • The best Windows Phone we've seen yet
  • The AMOLED display really pops, and onscreen interactions are snappy and smoothly executed
Cons:
  • No front-facing camera, and the 8 MP rear-facing camera is subpar compared to peers like the Samsung Galaxy S II and iPhone 4S
  • Not actually available in the U.S

Nokia Lumia 800

Nokia is back with a bang and this phone has so much to explore and play with.
Pros:
  • Refreshing New OS speed and usability contacts (which is termed people in this)
  • You can link up all the profile(facebook, google, linkedin etc.) of all of your contacts
  • Free turn by turn navigation and you donot even need a data connection for maps.
Cons:
  • battery (pain point of smartphones) no front camera
