Nokia Lumia 800 Review
Awesome hardware Check. Promising and potentially equally awesome software Check. The Lumia 800 is a great first-try for Nokia. There's definitely room for improvement but I can't help but be impressed with how good the combination is of Nokia hardware with Microsoft software!

Nokia Lumia 800 Review - Surprisingly Good, Not Quite Impressive
Unfortunately, Nokia's decision led to a schism among the company's fans who preferred one the three major mobile operating systems: MeeGo, Android and Windows Phone. Launched on the market a few months before Lumia 800 hit shelves, the N9 quickly gathered lots of fans and many favorable reviews...
Pros:
- The first thing that we think should make the Lumia 800 stand out is the appealing design
- Windows Phone 7.5 Mango is also another consistent improvement over the original version, which lacked so many things like multitasking and copy/paste.
Cons:
- Some may complain about the phone's form factor, but personally I like the minimal look and rectangular form factor
- Another downside of the Lumia 800 is the lack of a microSD card slot, but that's a common issue for all Windows Phone devices.

The design of the Nokia Lumia 800, as with its near-identical twin, the Meego-running Nokia N9, is simply gorgeous. The body is polycarbonate – soft to the touch, scratch-resistant, and sufficiently grippy that you'll have no fear of it slipping out...

Nokia Lumia 800 Windows Phone
is one of this year's important handset releases. It is the first result of the collaboration between Microsoft and Nokia and it is also the first major release to run on the latest version of Windows Phone 7.5 codenamed Mango.

The handset itself has a lovely design, apart from the port locations, it also boasts a beautiful display. It was extremely easy to use and we found our way around the operating system very quickly. Letting it down are the lack of an SD card slot, poor video recording quality and weak battery life.
Pros:
- Beautiful design
- easy to use interface
- excellent social integration
Cons:
- Battery doesn't really last
- lack of apps on the Windows Marketplace
- poor quality video recording

Nokia Lumia 800
On first appearance the Lumia 800 bears a striking resemblance to the Nokia N9, which was released in selected European countries and uses the Meego operating system (OS).

Review: Nokia Lumia 800
I've been an iPhone user since the 3G and when my iPhone 4 was broken I had a good look at the market to see what was available and a bit different to the rest of the competition.
Pros:
- Durable
- comfortable
- Windows Phone is refreshing
- great battery performance
- included case is all you need (same some cash on all those cases!
Cons:
- Curved screen left me thinking its easy to scratch and fitting a protector may prove tricky
- Windows Phone doesn't have the app support of iOS or Android (try before you buy)
- charging bay flap is going to break

Camera and video Camera is one of the important parts of any smartphone experience. A Carl Zeiss 8-megapixel snapper seems well worth. The camera is capable of capturing photos in broad daylight; one thing though, there might be a bit of over exposure.

The Nokia Lumia 800, which has been dubbed the ‘first real Windows Phone', is finally available in South Africa. The handset comes with two exclusive Nokia applications: Nokia Drive and Nokia Music. Design The Lumia 800 is similar in design to the Meego-based N9.
