Review: Nokia Lumia 800

The Lumia 800 is the first lovechild birthed from the union of Microsoft and Nokia. The two companies entered into a happy alliance in February 2011, with Nokia saying it would ship the bulk of its forthcoming handsets loaded with the Windows Phone mobile operating system.
Pros:
  • The best Windows Phone we've seen yet
  • The AMOLED display really pops, and onscreen interactions are snappy and smoothly executed
Cons:
  • No front-facing camera, and the 8 MP rear-facing camera is subpar compared to peers like the Samsung Galaxy S II and iPhone 4S
  • Not actually available in the U.S
  • yet

Nokia Lumia 800 review

The Nokia Lumia 800 is by far one of the best looking Windows Phone 7 smartphones we've seen so far, but its allure is diluted somewhat by its fuzzy PenTile matrix display and an unlocked price that puts it in the same territory as the iPhone 4S.

Nokia Lumia 800 does not differentiate much on the outside from the Nokia N9 as it too has a uni-body polycarbonite shell just like the N9. The body of Lumia 800 may fondly remind one of a delicious stick of a colorful gum. The phone is a very tempting device with specs full of life.
Pros:
  • Corning Gorilla Glass Protection display
  • Camera with Geo-tagging facility
  • Stereo FM radio with RDS
  • Memory of 16 GB storage
  • 512 MB RAM
  • AMOLED capacitive touchscreen
  • Presence of browsers like WAP 2.0/xHTML
  • HTML5
  • RSS feeds
  • Availability of sensors like Accelerometer
  • proximity and compass,...
Cons:
  • In ability to share Bluetooth files
  • Lack of video calling facility
  • Absence of skype application
  • Lack of new innovation

I Love this phone

This price is very high. I have a blue one I got online brand new in the box unlocked for about $350 off contract. You should not pay more than $400 for this phone. You can get a Lumia $900 off contract at AT&T for $450.
Pros:
  • This phone is awesome...great looking, fast, and solid hardware
  • Nokia has some great apps and they are good about keeping the software up to date where other vendors take forever to push out updates.
Cons:
  • Screen is not super amoled so text is not as clear as an LCD or super amoled screen like the 900 or samsung phones
  • however the color saturation is still amazing.
  • battery like is not great
  • you will get a full day with moderate use but I find myself charging halfway through the day with heavy use.
