Octopath is such a fun, old school based game. Basically it reminds me of the older rpg games like Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest. You control 8 different travelers which almost completely different backgrounds and go adventuring into the world.

Octopath Traveler's stylish fusion of sprite work and more modern 3D backdrops couldn't paint a better picture of what the game is: a classic RPG with...
Beautiful diorama-esque art style; Fantastic soundtrack; Interesting combat mechanics
Chapters can feel formulaic; The odd cruel difficulty spike; Some sketchy writing/delivery
Now I must say that up until now, I have never played a ‘turn-based' JRPG (though I did get introduced to the JRPG genre earlier in the year with Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom ). I've been gaming for over 30 years, so it's quite mad to think that this beloved genre has eluded me over the years.
Beautiful 16-bit HD visuals in a 2D/3D hybrid world; Sublime soundtrack; Brilliant voice-cast; Great replay value that will have you playing as all 8 characters
JRPG's aren't for everyone
Are these eight heroes able to take their place at the top shelf reserved for classic JRPGs That was the question we asked of Octopath Traveler as we prepared to write this review.
Octopath Traveler is a magnificent experience, but its story structure holds it back from being a truly amazing game
Octopath Traveler is a special RPG, the kind of game that keeps an eye on the past while walking bravely into the future. Indeed, we'd even go so far as to say this is the best RPG you can find on the Switch to date, all elements of this game link together perfectly to make for a harmonious and...
A wonderful and quite remarkable story that takes somewhere between 60 and 70 hours to complete. With a rich, in-depth combat system and an overall superb game.
The visuals and music are very captivating for the game. However, if grinding isn't your thing, this may become a more tedious game than you'd like.
Arrived 1 day delivery with prime, game and box came in perfect condition. Safe to say that the hype for this game is real and it doesn't let you down, awesome game would purchase again.
Square Enix has made multiple attempts to capitalize on the nostalgia generated by their 16-bit days. Games like I Am Setsuna, Lost Sphear, Brave Exvius and Bravely Default all draw from this sacred era in different ways. Octopath Traveler is no exception.
Beautiful graphics; Combat is compelling; A lot of interesting stories being told
Get ready for some grinding; Narratives never really coalesce; English voice acting sometimes falls flat
