The Quicksilver branding is designed to further underline the camera's waterproof attributes, and at the same time also give more credence to the outdoor appeal of this newest of digital snappers from Olympus.

Olympus Tough TG-610
The Tough TG-610 features a shockproof, waterproof, freezeproof body, designed to take whatever the elements can throw at it - or perhaps, whatever you might accidentally throw it at!

There's a reason why Olympus added the word "tough" to the Olympus Tough TG-610 3D camera's description – it really is tough. Not only is this baby waterproof in up to 16 feet of water, but it is freezeproof and shockproof as well.
Pros:
- This camera can function under extreme weather conditions
Cons:
- It can't record 3D videos and it records normal videos at only 720p

The waterproof Olympus Tough TG-610 is the worst camera I have used in 30+ years of amateur photography. I have used Minolta, Nikon, Sony, and many Canons, but this Olympus 610 has such poor ergonomics, controls, and lack of intuitive menus compared to my previous cameras.
Pros:
- 5x optical zoom
- waterproof
- seems solid
- 3" screen (though I would have liked a smaller screen if they made the joystick a little bigger.....the screen crowds out the tiny
- finicky joystick
Cons:
- Horrible ergonomics
- Terrible position of controls
- Very jerky zoom control
- 4 position joystick is way too small and finicky
- Autofocus in video mode doesn't lock
- and goes blurry every 20 seconds (this occurs when filming at distances from 20 yds to 100 yds
- No paper manual ($300 camera!!!!

Olympus TG-610
Olympus has always been something of a specialist in waterproof compacts. However, the firm has been facing increasing competition over the last few years, since all the major camera brands have been bringing out alternatives.
Pros:
- Waterproof to 5 m
- shockproof to 1.5 m
- integrated lens cover
- Bright
- high-def screen with good viewing angles
- High-quality build and finish
Cons:
- Mediocre picture quality: sharpness and sensitivity could be better
- Video mode isn't great (under-exposed picture
- mono sound
- Slow to charge with USB charger
- Long lists of options in main menu / Quick menu doesn't open up on the last setting used

"Well You've Bought It Now, So.......Tough!"
Cameras and water, by tradition, don't go together. Sure, there are apocryphal tales about ‘Nam photo-journalists dropping their Nikon Fs into the Mekong's muddy waters only to have them transferred to a bucket of clean water until such time as they could be dried, cleaned, re-greased and made...
Pros:
- Knockabout camera which can even be used underwater
- well down to 16 feet anyway
Cons:
- Battery life
- Slightly soft results
- Tendency to over-expose

Olympus camera
Just got this camera and tried a number of differents shots and movies in different lighting conditions. About 20% were blurry because of camera movement. It is a difficult camera to stabalize in the hand but the shots that come out well are very good. It is certainly great for macro type shooting.

good choice
I found my first one in 40ft of water and it still worked. Bought this for a friend as he liked mine so much after comparing it to the one he owned.
