OnePlus 6

OnePlus's latest smartphone is another model designed to compete with the likes of Samsung Galaxy and Apple iPhone models, but at a much cheaper price. The tagline of the OnePlus 6 is "the speed you need", and has been designed to be quite different from the last few OnePlus phones.

OnePlus 6 Review

I'll start with the negative points, and the way I see it, there are three main drawbacks to the OnePlus 6. Firstly, it has a glass back but does not support wireless charging, while it also lacks an official IP water and dust resistance rating. Lastly, the single downward firing speaker is poor.
Pros:
  • Very fast
  • Gesture control works brilliantly
  • Camera is much improved
  • Fast fingerprint scanner and facial recognition
  • Clean software
  • Impressive display
  • Very well priced
Cons:
  • No wireless charging
  • Poor speaker
  • No official IP rating

Big and strong :-)

Great benchmarks, battery for all day long whatever you do, great camera. Too bad that there's no sd card and speaker is low in volume. Very fast reactions for everyday usage, hope it will get update to android pie soon
Pros:
  • Camera
  • Battery
  • Ui
Cons:
  • No sd
  • Speaker in low

We're a little late to the party evaluating the OnePlus 6, but boy are we glad we circled back around to check this highly tuned Android flagship out. The OnePlus 6 could be the sleeper phone value of the year so far, with great performance and features, at a very competitive price point.
Pros:
  • Quality
  • premium design
  • Killer 6.28-inch OLED display
  • Great performance
  • 8GB of RAM says bring it
  • Great battery life
  • Clean Android OS
  • Very price competitive
  • Super fast facial recognition
  • Gesture support and OS tweaks
Cons:
  • Not quite IP68 resistant
  • No wireless charging
  • Single down-firing speaker

Absolutely delighted. Almost everything works incredibly well. Only negative is the mono speaker, as well as the vibration engine setting options. Would like to see the possibility of setting even lower vibration strength (specifically when pressing back / home / last) but I'm a little skeptical...

OnePlus 6 Review

Since its inception in 2014, with the $299 OnePlus X, OnePlus aims at delivering the best features at a great price, and the OnePlus 6 fits perfectly in the strategy at an impressively high level.

  • Super-fast charging
  • Very good camera
  • Excellent value
Cons:
  • No IP-Rating for water-resistance
  • Lack of wireless charging

As a refinement of the already well-made OnePlus 5T, the OnePlus 6 is a big step toward the company's vision of "the perfect smartphone." Still, it depends on how one defines "perfect"; at least from a technical standpoint, the OnePlus 6 is stuck with a lower screen resolution than other flagships,...

OnePlus 6 review: Better than the Galaxy S9

OnePlus has carved out an excellent reputation for its devices, and it's one that's well warranted. Its phones have historically offered an excellent combination of power and price, giving the big-name competitors a real run for their money. This has never been more true than with the OnePlus 6.
Pros:
  • Superb camera
  • Comparable performance to Galaxy S9
  • Amazing display
Cons:
  • Battery life is more disappointing than the 5T
  • No IP67 waterproofing

OnePlus 6 review: top-end smartphone for half cost of iPhone X

The OnePlus 6 is premium device that cuts the right corners in pursuit of a sub-£500 price. Starting at £469, it certainly isn't a cheap smartphone but it is less than half the cost of Apple's iPhone X and considerably cheaper than the top-end Android competition.
Pros:
  • good battery life
  • great screen
  • excellent performance
  • dual-sim
  • great camera
  • premium build and feel
  • Bluetooth 5
Cons:
  • glass is more fragile than metal
  • no wireless charging
  • no IP water resistance rating
  • no expandable storage

OnePlus 6 review: Glorious, glossy and powerful

The OnePlus 6 is an awesome phone and would - quite frankly - be a competitive flagship even if it was priced to match its competitors. It's not, and as such its £469 starting price point makes it complete no brainer. This is the company's first no-compromise smartphone.
Pros:
  • Good-looking design with sturdy build
  • Bright and colourful display
  • Dash Charge is a major plus
  • Speedy smooth performance
  • Much better camera
Cons:
  • No wireless charging
  • No official IP rating against water and dust resistance
  • Most Android apps not optimised for notched screen yet
