PB Upgrade Bundle 53102 M.2 SSD & HDD, Samsung 970 Evo 250GB M.2 (2280) NVMe SSD with Seagate BarraCuda 2TB 3.5 inch 7200RPM. HDDSAM9110, HDDSE2205
REally good SSD super fast plus the 2TB HDD is really good!
Wow - Speed+++++ and Easy to install
I purchased this for my home lab and ESXi server. I have 1 particular VM that loads and runs very slowly due to disk bottle neck. No more! Installed it using an expansion board as my MB didn't have M.2 so using PCIe x4 slot.
Incredible!
I wish that I had bought one of these sooner, it seems to be a lot faster than the original conventional style ssd's and with it attaching directly onto the motherboard (typically under the graphics card) you cannot see it at all.
M.2, the future is now
Do you have an M.2 socket No You bought the wrong MoBo! Yes you do Why are you still reading this, just add it to your cart. or the pro version if you need it to be even faster because your time machine broke down.- Worked
- I mean M.2 is the future, this "stick" of memory is a freegin TB and it is barely longer then a USB thumb drive and thinner then my MoBo
- To install, you just slide the contactors into place in the socket on the MoBo and put in a tiny retaining screw
- Uh
- I wish the pro's were priced at Evo price point I dunno whats not to love here if you showed this to a computer geek in the 90's and told them what it was and how much memory it held
- they would put you in the loony bin.
Work! Use with SinTech adapter on my 2014 MacBookPro 15.4
I bought this to upgrade my 2014 MacBook Pro 15.4 inch. I measured the SSD throughput on the original 512GB SSD and after the upgrade. On the original one, I was getting 600+MB/s. On the new one, I am getting 1,600MB/s. It is not the spec.ed 2,500MB/s but that could be due to my older Mac model.
One of the best money can buy
Say what you will about Samsung and their phone devices but I have always had the most consistent performance with their NVME storage, super fast and a very good price point. Sure there are others that are cheaper or some that are technically faster but i feel like these have an amazing sweet spot...
Samsung 970 Evo 500GB Review
The Samsung 970 Evo is the more intriguing SSD of the firm's two latest releases. While the flagship 970 Pro tends to grab the headlines, Samsung's Evo drives are the more affordable products, and the models that most folk tend to buy.- Excellent
- consistent speeds
- Solid endurance ratings
- Cheaper than 970 Pro
- 970 Pro quicker in some tests
- 970 Pro offers better endurance
Samsung 970 EVO M.2 500GB NVMe SSD review
Slowly but steadily NVMe technology is getting towards a storage performance stage where these units (much like SATA3) also are running into system bottlenecks. With the new 64-layer NAND Samsung can increase volume size with less space used, but also is able to bump up read performance a notch.
Great SSD Upgrade
I updated my stock 512gb Samsung SSD in my laptop to the new 2TB Samsung 970 EVO and couldn't be happier. A ton of space and super fast read/write speeds. I've also noticed a reduction in heat during intensive read/write operations. Love it!
Absolute beast(y)
Laptop now boots in 6 seconds and all the resource hogging software I'm using
