Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ Smartphone Review

Had the Galaxy S6 Edge+ been released simultaneously with the Galaxy S6 Edge, then it would have been easier to let pass some of its downsides. The iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, for example, launched at the same time in most regions.
Pros:
  • Attractive and unique edge display, High quality 2560 x 1440 resolution screen, Gorilla Glass 4 on front and back
  • Excellent build quality, Bright backlight for outdoor use, Wireless charging, Larger battery capacity
  • Long runtimes, Excellent SSD performance, Wi-Fi calling
Cons:
  • No significant improvements from Galaxy S6 Edge
  • Display is not as bright or as accurate as the Galaxy Note 5
  • High surface temperatures
  • CPU and GPU throttling
  • No MicroSD
  • MHL
  • Miracast
  • USB Type-C
  • or dual-SIM
  • No removable battery

Samsung's entertainment-focused phablet has plenty of power and a stunning look, although the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ is still searching for a real application reason for that fancy edge. It's a fascinating time in premium smartphones.

Galaxy Note 5 (and S6 Edge+) review-big, premium phones, big premium prices

Another year brings another Galaxy Note-this is the fifth version of Samsung's category-defining device. Samsung has had the big-phone market to itself for years, with only a small amount of competition from other Android OEMs.
Pros:
  • A great camera that can hold its own with the best of them
  • The glass and metal materials choice makes this the most premium-feeling Note device ever
  • A cool
  • speedy Exynos 7 SoC
  • The fingerprint reader from the Galaxy S6 is still fast and accurate
  • The Note 5's pull-and-write stylus feature is an...
Cons:
  • TouchWiz is still slow and quits apps too aggressively. Other devices will be faster because they aren't reloading apps into RAM all the time, The Flipboard home screen is still a laggy hack
  • you swipe over to the knock-off Google Now screen and the whole home screen pauses so Flipboard can load, A...

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+

Samsung has made a bold statement with its Galaxy S6 range of smartphones. Plastic painted as metal and faux leather backs have been consigned to Room 101 and Samsung has finally put style and design at the core of its smartphone offering. The Galaxy S6 Edge+ is born of that new philosophy.

  • Fantastic screen
  • Decent battery life
  • Speedy performance
  • Great camera
Cons:
  • Tricky to handle
  • Hugely expensive
  • Lacks Note features

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus REVIEW: Fashion over function

Samsung has always favored function over fashion. Even as some of its closest competitors were churning out exciting new designs, the Korean company stubbornly remained unchanged, almost ignoring the evolving market around it.

Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ Review: Absurdly Large Android at Its Finest

The Galaxy S6 edge+ is the embodiment of Samsung at the top of its game. With its beautiful build and powerful hardware, it's more than worthy of the flagship title. To top it off, the hardware is supported by secondary features (thumbprint and heart sensors) that perform smoothly, as well as a...
Pros:
  • Incredible performance
  • Beautiful build and display
  • Added features like fingerprint and heart rate sensors function well
Cons:
  • Edges don't prove to be all that useful
  • Humongous (even if that's the point
  • it can be impractical

Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ (Verizon Wireless)

There's a number that makes me uneasy about Verizon's Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+. That number is $768 (for the 32GB model). The S6 edge+ is the single most expensive smartphone Verizon Wireless sells, and it's likely to stay that way.
Pros:
  • Fast performance
  • Premium materials
  • Excellent cameras
Cons:
  • Expensive
  • Lacks Samsung Pay
  • Edge functionality is limited

Review: Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+

Phablets are dead. Long live huge phones. There are a few stragglers left, clutching their iPhone 5s and claiming that life was better when everyone was squinting at tiny screens. But most people have come around. Good thing, too: Big phones are great.
Pros:
  • You can't beat these displays, or these cameras
  • Samsung's learned how to make beautiful hardware
  • Big phones are best phones
Cons:
  • Bloatware is still hanging around
  • These things are fingerprint magnets
  • Beauty don't come cheap
