Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 review
The battery life is a huge problem, even if it’s one that’s less important in the safety of a country-wide lockdown. That is the situation this writer and others like him find themselves in at the moment, at the time this review was published, with a seemingly ongoing Covid lockdown across...- Great design, Solid performance, Nice fast and foldable main screen, Front screen has support for widgets allowing you to check things while keeping it locked, Rear cameras can be used for selfies with the front screen, Supports 5G, Water resistant, Features wireless charging
- Camera could be a little better, Battery life borders on dismal
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 review
- Folding screen is a lot of fun
- Attractive design
- Accessible price (for folding phone)
- Powerful specs
- Unexciting camera
- Battery could be bigger
- Screen is no larger than most smartphones
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 128GB Black SM-F711BZKAXNZ review
Samsung released two previous Z Flip models, but the second one really only added 5G to the first model. I spent months and thousands of dollars on the Galaxy Fold and then the Z Fold 2 , but never had the chance to even see a Z Flip model in person.- IPX8 water-resistant, Reasonable price, Beautiful foldable display, Functional cover display
- Cameras could be better, Not easy to open with one hand, Battery life isn't the greatest
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 5G (128GB, Cream) AU - Excellent review
- Form factor is seriously versatile, cover display aids in taking high-resolution selfies, overall flagship-level performance
- Battery life is shorter than other similarly-priced phones, folding form factor requires a learning curve, Android apps aren't entirely optimized
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 128GB Black SM-F711BZKAXNZ review
The story of folding phones thus far has been one of compromise. Choosing a folding phone over a standard slab design has generally meant you compromised on performance, durability, and most of all, price.- It folds in half, It costs the same as other high-end phones, It’s water resistant, Inside screen is as good as other premium phones
- Long-term screen durability still a question, Cameras aren’t top tier, Cover screen still too small and limited, Difficult to open one-handed
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 128GB Black SM-F711BZKAXNZ review
The Galaxy Z Flip 3 got improvements in every area. From price to durability and everything in between.- Bigger & more usable Cover Display, Main Display is now 120Hz, Incredibly low $999 price, IPX8 rated for water resistant, More durable overall
- Battery life is not great, Cameras are just OK, Still very tall, slightly awkward to use
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 128GB Black SM-F711BZKAXNZ review
Samsung's new foldables are formidable thanks to improved mechanics and refined designs....
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 128GB Black SM-F711BZKAXNZ review
With a $999 starting price, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 is an "affordable" foldable, with a 6.7-inch FHD+ inner display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The outer display is four times bigger and more durable than its predecessor, but the 3,300 mAh battery has us worried about the Flip 3’s longevity.- More affordable, Enhanced durability, Bigger cover display, 120Hz refresh rate on inner display, IPX8 water resistance
- Terrible battery life, Slow charging, No telephoto lens, Crease is still noticeable
Hands on: Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 review
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 is probably the best clamshell foldable phone out there right now - not that that says much with the limited competition - though it doesn’t present any major changes to its predecessor. It has a sturdy design and good-looking screen, though the cameras aren’t great and the battery is fairly small. Some slight tweaks and a slightly lower price might win over those who were on the fence about such phones before.- Just ‘expensive’, not ‘very expensive’
- Flip design feels durable
- Still feels wide in the hand
- Cameras aren’t fantastic
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 initial review: Flippin' marvellous
Although not a giant leap forward compared to its predecessor, the Z Flip 3 is a much more fluidly designed device, with that front screen now beautifully integrated. It's the best flip phone we've seen to date (sorry Moto Razr) - and with a price tag to tackle 'normal' flagships head-on, it'll certainly turn some minds around, despite a few inevitable compromises that are part and parcel of a foldable device.- Larger front screen is much better looking and more neatly integrated
- The tidiest flip phone design of any maker to date
- Plenty of power and sturdy software
- Largely similar to predecessor
- Screen coating is unavoidably reflective and ongoing 'crease' issues remain
- No under panel camera (UPC) - as seen in Z Fold 3
