Fantastic small camera!

Overall, this is a great camera body. It's my fourth Sony APS-C Mirrorless body (NEX-5N, NEX-6, A6000, A6500) and I'm really enjoying it. The body is very solid, and the performance is excellent. It's very fast, and I was able to configure it to do what I needed more easily than the previous models.
Pros:
  • Focus speed and large buffer Better controls than previous APS-C Sony Great build-quality Great EVF (especially at 120Hz) Nice grip and overall size Can use it while connected to a USB battery pack
Cons:
  • Mediocre battery life (but works with a battery pack) Could use another dial (but it works once you get used to it) Not quite as hip looking as Fuji or Olympus..

  • Powerful 5-axis in-body stabilisation
  • Highly customisable

Punches above its weight

I've owned Canon DSLR's (my fallback workhorse), I've also owned an NEX5-N and an A6000, the previous Sony's although good always left me wanting to return to my Canon DSLR but the A6500 is a different beast. An amazing camera which can easily compare to much more expensive equipment.

I purchased this camera with the offer of £300 Sony cashback. The camera itself is great and a much need upgrade on my previous Sony camera but.... beware of the cashback bit. I've spent 3 weeks with from my initial claim direct to Sony which failed online to finally getting Sony to acknowledge and...

Sony Alpha A6500

Sony left it just six months before updating the Alpha A6300 with the A6500, but while this might sound like a premature update, the Alpha 6500 gains a number of key features, including in-body image stabilization to further blur the line between Sony's APS-C lineup and its Alpha 7 full-frame range...
