For alternatives on the Android platform, you can check out the HTC One V, which is retailing for Rs 18,000 and boasts similar specs or the older...

Good Buy
The touch is nice. And the dual core processor makes sure application work without a lag. Not much of a mobile gamer so cant review that. The music might sound not too loud at times but the quality is excellent.

Almost There. Definitely good.
When I review a phone I look at the usability, its performance and efficiency along with music quality. Here are the things I found out while using this phone Performance - For a mid range smartphone, this phone works pretty well. The animations are snappy and there is hardly any lag ever.

Reviewed: Sony Xperia Sola - mid-range onslaught
The phone is somewhat smaller than the Xperia S and, weighing in at 107 grams, fits nicely into the hand and has a good solid feel. The Sola uses a standard sized SIM card, so no need to change to a micro SIM yet.
Pros:
- Apart from being a phone, it is also a good social network connector
- The screen senses your finger movement when hovering above, but without actually touching the screen.
Cons:
- No front camera No...

Sony Xperia Sola
Sony's Xperia Sola is a respectable mid-tier phone, with a good smattering of features and decent performance. Some that will argue that its 3.7-inch screen is too small for various smartphone tasks and the colour banding issues we've encountered may be a deal-breaker for others.
Pros:
- Great UI and performance
- NFC
- Decent camera
Cons:
- Limited internal storage
- Colour banding on LCD display
- 3.7-inch screen may be too small for some

Sony Xperia Sola
In some respects, designing a mid-range handset must be harder than designing the flagship models. A mid-tier mobile needs to maintain the same "feel" as other phones in its range, but also needs its own defining elements.
Pros:
- Great UI and performance
- NFC
- Decent camera
Cons:
- Limited internal storage
- Colour banding on LCD display
- 3.7-inch screen may be too small for some

Sony Xperia Sola
The Sola is a solid smartphone with a good array of features beyond the basics. Just be sure you can't buy the better Xperia S for the same price before you commit.
Pros:
- Great UI and performance
- NFC
- Decent camera
Cons:
- Limited internal storage
- Colour banding on LCD display
- 3.7-inch screen may be too small for some
