Sony Xperia U expert review
Well, I have to say I like the Sony Xperia U. It has the right amount of power, it's smooth and Sony's Android customisations and social network integration is impressive. The handset, due to its size, doesn't compete with the top end of the market, but the compact design is part of it's appeal and...

Sony Xperia U
The Sony Xperia U is the third tier in Sony's current lineup of Android phones. Costing around £150, it's comfortably within budget phone territory but, like the Xperia P , it belies its low cost, making for a handset that's well worth a look.
Pros:
- Surprisingly stylish and well built
- Great perfromance for a budget phone
- Really easy to handle
Cons:
- Screen quite small by today's standards
- Only runs Android 2.3

Still, an update will be available in the fullness of time, and this should not detract too much from what is a generally very impressive device. It's a solidly mid-range handset, and while we're not enamoured with every aspect of it, the very appealing price point does make us more inclined to...

Sony Xperia U
An Android smartphone doesn't need to have the fastest processor, the largest touchscreen display, or the fastest mobile data speeds in order to be great. It just has to offer the right combination of hardware and software features at a price that won't break the bank.

Sony's NXT line has been taken to like Marmite thanks to the uniform look and feel across its range. Consisting of the Sony Xperia S, Xperia P and Xperia U all offer a trademark combination of bold corners, curvaceous backing and transparent banding around the base.
Pros:
- Sharp screen
- Fast processor
- Solid camera
