10/10 best headset ever
As you may have read in the Sennheiser GSP 500 review, I have been going through a lot of changes in the recent months. The next big change has been related to my career. I have actually been looking for a new position for a while.
With so many of the gaming headsets we review landing in the $100 range (and serving up impressive performance), what could possibly justify the $250 price tag that SteelSeries pins on its Arctis Pro + GameDAC
High-end materials exude solid build quality; Separate GameDAC does a lot for sound quality and available settings; Well-balanced frequency response; Comfortable on narrow heads
Very high price; Headband does not fit well over large heads; Proprietary connector on GameDAC limits use; Artificial limit on output
Audiophile-grade sound quality from a gaming headset. That's the dream peddled by manufacturers with respect to their premium offerings. But history has shown, repeatedly, that gaming and true audio fidelity to be largely mutually exclusive - a £100 headset is routinely trounced by a quality set of...
Fantastic sound quality; Great mic; Very comfortable; DAC works well; Good looks
Expensive for most; Lacks official support for Xbox One

Putting this headset on and running through my usual selection of – if I'm being honest – absolute bangers, it was immediately clear that the GameDAC and Arctis Pro is a powerful combination.
Today we will be covering the Arctis Pro + GameDAC from SteelSeries. Big shout out to SteelSeries for providing us with all the great headsets in the past. The one on hand today is from
Quality; Sound; Comfort; Style; Compatible with everything
Requires a hefty commitment from the wallet
The sound quality is out of this world, both for music and with the microphone. People said I sounded like a radio broadcaster with this mic. However, I found the cloth strap (underneath the hard plastic connector between ears), to be annoying.
If your budget doesn't stretch that extra $50 for the wireless version, you won't find a more complete package for 250 bucks.
