Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection (PlayStation 4) Review
The Uncharted series is often described as the reason to own a PlayStation 3. Sure enough, the system held firm in its battle against Xbox 360 thanks to the consistently high quality titles that developer Naughty Dog churned out every couple of years, which included three Uncharted titles and The...

- Still brilliant games
- Really impressive remastering job
- A lot of content and quality for the cash
- Playing all three in quick succession reveals some repetition
Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection review
So even in these remastered states there are areas in which the Uncharted games show their age, and that's particularly true of Drake's Fortune, but in a way that’s part of the charm: you get to see how the series has evolved, getting prettier, wittier and more bombastic with each new entry. The action is great, getting better with each sequel, but it’s the writing and design that shines brightest. It’s thrilling and funny in equal measure, and strikes a balance between the two that no game before or since has quite matched. If you’ve never played them before you might initially wonder what all the fuss was about with the first one, but the story will hook you in all the same and you’ll play straight through into Uncharted 2. That’s where it will really click. That’s the point that you’ll realise you’re playing a bonafide classic. And then you’ll be straight into Drake’s Deception, and you’ll be amazed at what Naughty Dog achieved with last-gen hardware, which will get you salivating at the prospect of a proper, made-for-PS4 sequel. This may well be the best, most consistent gaming series there’s ever been, and being back in Drake’s presence is an absolute pleasure. Here’s hoping A Thief’s End isn’t actually the end of the Uncharted series.- Still brilliant games

Uncharted: Nathan Drake Collection
Sir Francis Drake's motto-"Greatness from small beginnings"-is a running reference throughout the Uncharted series. It's what spurs Nathan Drake to become an adventurer. It's what urges him on in the jungles of Uncharted: Drake's Fortune -to continue at a time when he has every reason to turn back.
Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection Review – Relive the Adventures All Over Again in HD
Uncharted is a series that has graced the PlayStation platforms since 2007. Developer Naughty Dog, who was well known for the Crash Bandicoot and Jak & Dexter games, took a chance with a new IP and never looked back, as Uncharted became a hit.
Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection Review
Considering the volume of HD remasters on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, it's only logical that Sony would decide to push for a re-release of the Uncharted games on its new console. The Uncharted franchise holds a special place in my heart, as the games blend the kind of pulp action adventure I love, with...- Entire trilogy on one disc
- Still terrific games
- Tweaks offer worthy improvements
- Some difficulties switching between the titles from the main screen
- No multiplayer components
Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection review – a thief's?beginning
An excellent remaster of three of the PlayStation 3's best looking games, but none of them have aged quite as gracefully as you might expect.- Some of gaming's most memorable, and best acted, characters, with lots of great set pieces and surprises
- On a technical level the remaster itself is beyond reproach
- Uncharted 1 is not a particularly good game and the combat in all three is a real weak point
- Overblown animation adversely affect the gameplay
- No multiplayer
Review: Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune released on the PS3 in 2007. It was the first game in my mind to truly combine realistic visuals and storytelling with incredible action based gameplay to create an incredible gaming experience like none before it.
