The hero of 'Watch Dogs 2' is Marcus, a young hacker who wants to prove himself to the hacktivist collective DedSec. He physically infiltrates a Blume server facility to hack ctOS 2.0, the citywide digital infrastructure that connects nearly everything with a computer chip.

Improves over the original
I've had the game now for about 4 days and I've not been this glued to a game in a very long while. The characters and story are more engaging than the previous game, not that I really touched that for a bit, there is so much more to do that kept me occupied.

WATCH DOGS 2 Watch Dogs 2 is an open world action-adventure video game developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft. The sequel to 2014's Watch Dogs, it was released worldwide for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows in November 2016.

- Better hacking tools and more freedom to use them

- Technical issues
- occasional bugs and glitches

The original Watch Dogs was a polarising game. Personally, I thought it was fantastic, but it was massively crippled by Ubisoft's antics and the fact that the main protagonist had as much personality as a wet piece of cardboard.
Pros:
- The new tone is incredibly captivating | Interesting and fun characters | New hacking options open up a lot of gameplay possibilities | Massive amounts of content with a sizable main story | San Francisco is a wonderful setting | The pop culture art and design direction is wonderful | Buttery smooth...
Cons:
- The driving is a tad wonky | Massive ludonarrative dissonance | Visuals of some assets feel cartoony and on the wrong end of realism | Combat encounters can become repetitive after a while | Some references and imagery are a little heavy handed

Watch Dogs 2 Review
By expanding on a lot of what the first game and its expansion got right and mixing action, stealth, and puzzle gameplay with handy remote-control drones, Watch Dogs 2 impresses with open mission designs with multiple ways to reach your objective and some great toys to find them with.

A good game, not a fantastic game (for the reasons outlined) by any stretch. It is fun, with lots to see and do and in an open world action-adventure its easy to get bored. I've not been bored yet and with the online operations (also completable solo) there's always a steady stream of stuff to play...

The premise for Watch Dogs 2 expands directly on its predecessor. The Blume company who prototyped ctOS (the semi-fictional infrastructure control software) in Chicago as a method to centralize management of things like the electrical grid has expanded nationwide.
Pros:
- Likeable protagonist
- Sharp and funny writing
- Bright and colorful world of San Francisco
- Plethora of varied main and side content
- Never takes itself too seriously
Cons:
- Secondary hackerspaces don't do much
- AI can be a little dim
- Infrequent framerate wobble
