Apple iPhone 12 128GB - Black MGJA3X/A review
The iPhone 12 sports a gorgeous new design, full 5G support, great cameras and even better performance. However, the lack of a charger in box and limited base storage are drawbacks. I’m of two minds about the iPhone 12.
Pros:
- Attractive new design with MagSafe, Comprehensive 5G coverage, Impressive dual cameras, Fastest performance in a phone, Solid battery life
Cons:
- Only 64GB of base storage, 60Hz display, No charger or headphones in box, Digital zoom could still use work

The iPhone 12 is a definite improvement over the iPhone 11. The new design gives the device a more modern look, and additions like MagSafe and 5G are helpful, helping future-proof the phone.

Don’t buy it just for 5G.
Pros:
- Apple’s base-model iPhone now has an OLED display, unlike last year’s LCD on the iPhone 11. It has an incredibly fast chip. And it supports 5G, for whenever 5G is widely available in the US. Phone ships with a USB-C to Lightning cable, which is great if you’re the owner of a newer MacBook laptop.
Cons:
- In a vacuum, the camera is great
- compared to last year’s iPhones, the camera isn’t jaw-droppingly better. Phone’s display has the same refresh rate as the display on iPhone 11. Battery life wasn’t noticeably better. No more earbuds in the box.

The iPhone 12 starts at Rs 79,990 (64GB variant) and for most people an expensive buy. It’s the iPhone that we expect most people to buy not just because the iPhone 12 Pro costs a good Rs 40,000 more because most might not see the benefit of spending that extra cash.

For that group of people who want a new iPhone, but just can't justify the price of the iPhone 12 Pro range, this is a great choice without having to feel like you are settling for second best.
Pros:
- OLED display
- More powerful processor
- Better camera experience
- Dolby Vision support
- MagSafe
- 5G
Cons:
- No telephoto lens
- Smudges easily
- Colours aren't as playful as previous years
- Price bump over previous year
