The new iPhone 12 Pro sweeps the floor with the competition, and has the best camera we've seen so far.
Pros:
- The best performance on the market, visibly better picture and video quality, fast 5G, more solid than before and a very bright screen. Clever magnetic solution.
Cons:
- Charger is extra equipment. Expensive with a lot of storage.

iPhone 12 Pro Review
This is a great phone that’s easy to recommend. It takes the great 11 Pro, tweaks it and adds in a glorious new design that takes things to the next level. It’s a bit of a shame that the Pro Max has the potential for an even better camera though, and a high refresh rate screen would have been nice. Maybe next year.
Pros:
- A very welcome redesign
- Reliable cameras in all situations
- Accurate HDR display
- Great size
Cons:
- High refresh rate screen feels sorely missed on the Pro model
- Pro Max bags the bigger camera upgrades

You must have telephoto. If you're choosing between the iPhone 12 and 12 Pro, the addition of a telephoto lens is what will likely sell you on the extra money. Lidar and a stainless steel frame are bonuses, but likely not worth the extra cash. You love the Pro's matte glass back.

- Superb performance, Consistently good photo and video quality, Improved industrial design
Cons:
- Worse battery life than iPhone 11 Pro

If you're a serious creative who doesn't want a huge phone, the iPhone 12 Pro packs superior imaging and video capability into a reasonably sized, beautifully designed body.
Pros:
- Excellent night photo capabilities
- Optical zoom camera
- iOS has the best third-party photo apps
- Beautiful design
- Solid battery life
Cons:
- Technically only 2x optical zoom camera
- AT&T and Verizon 5G underwhelms
- Charging and power adapter situation is confusing

The iPhone 12 Pro captures images with bags of impact and plenty of detail, even in low light. Any photographer who uses it is bound to experience one of those head-scratching moments when the phone gets a better shot than their larger-sensor camera.
Pros:
- Produced attractive images with impact
- Easy to use
- Great wide-angle capability
Cons:
- Limited control in the native camera app
- High price
- The lenses are unprotected

This year is the big upgrade year for the Apple iPhone. Be left in absolutely no doubt that this is a serious upgrade for pretty much everyone, except iPhone 11 Pro users who can still perhaps treat this as a not-so-urgent upgrade.
