iPhone 4 Review
Apple's oppressive app store policies are as much of an issue as ever (though the phone is already easy to jailbreak), as is the fact that the phone is tied to AT&T's spotty coverage and stingy data plans.
Pros:
- Unparalleled screen quality
- high quality camera
- (sort of) multitasking
Cons:
- Needs a case to function properly
- can only run approved apps
- stuck with AT&T

Apple iPhone 4
Apple tried every shady trick in the book to cover up "antennagate", from blaming its customers for holding it wrong , to blaming it on its network signal attenuation algorithm , to playing down the severity by dragging other mobile vendors into the debate .
Pros:
- Zippy 1GHz processor
- Retina display is razor sharp
- One of the fastest cameras we've seen in a phone
Cons:
- The much-discussed antenna issue
- Design lacks the ergonomics of previous models
- Not a substantial performance bump from 3GS

Apple iPhone 4 First Look
With the iPhone 4 now selling fast in Australia, CHOICE has been keen to test just how much of a concern its controversial antenna issue actually is. The reception problem, caused by holding the phone in a particular way (the so-called "death grip"), has generated worldwide publicity, particularly

Apple iPhone 4 (Verizon Wireless)
There's something a little surreal about seeing "Verizon" in the upper left corner of an iPhone's screen. It signifies something monumental for those who have been waiting more than three years to get an iPhone that works on Verizon Wireless' network.
Pros:
- Solid 3G performance
- Personal hotspot feature
- Super-sharp Retina display
- Excellent camera and 720p camcorder
- Best-in-class App Store
Cons:
- Can't use voice and data simultaneously
- Doesn't support global roaming
- No 4G

Review: The Verizon iPhone 4
Editor's Note: This article was originally published in February 2011 when Apple released 16GB and 32GB iPhone 4 models compatible with Verizon's CDMA network. In October 2011, Apple pared down its iPhone 4 offerings to a single 8GB model that worked on either GSM or CDMA networks.
Pros:
- Gorgeous high-resolution screen
- Fast processor with lots of RAM
- 5-megapixel camera takes great stills and good HD video
- Longer battery life than previous iPhones
- iOS 4 features
- including multitasking
- FaceTime
- and Personal Hotspot

Review: Apple iPhone 4S
Apple never specified what the "S" stands for in iPhone 4S, and it may as well stand for Siri. Sure, the fifth-generation iPhone's superb camera and speedy dual-core processor are classy additions. But Siri is the reason people should buy this phone.
Pros:
- Siri is the best androgynous unpaid intern you'll ever meet
- Dual-core guts make for faster apps and a smoother interface
- Camera is much-improved
- Call quality gets a boost
Cons:
- Siri is limited in what it can do and understand
- Looks the same as the iPhone 4 - what's up with that? A two-year contract means you may not be eligible for the best upgrade pricing

iPhone 4S
The iPhone 4S needs no introduction. It has sold so many pre-orders that it has already been declared a smash hit even before it was available for sale. Now, at long last, we've gotten our hands on one, and it lives up to the hype, and then some.
Pros:
- Still beautiful
- much faster A5 dual core CPU
- better camera and Siri
Cons:
- No 4G
- glass front and back more likely to crack if dropped

Apple iPhone 4S
If you're upgrading from an iPhone 4, Apple's new iPhone 4S is best described as an evolutionary rather than revolutionary upgrade. However, for current iPhone 3G and 3GS users, or those switching from another platform, the iPhone 4S is a significant upgrade. A higher quality camera and video recorder, a faster processor, a better graphics chip, more memory options and Siri voice control make this one of the best smartphones on the market. A new iPhone is here and it's called the iPhone 4S. It may not have been the iPhone 5 the tech world was expecting: the iPhone 4S has an almost identical physical design to the previous iPhone 4. However, it boasts a number of improvements that make it a worthy upgrade provided you're coming from an iPhone 3G or iPhone 3GS. For iPhone 4 owners, however, the iPhone 4S is less appealing — even if it remains a fine smartphone in its own right.
Pros:
- Excellent performance
- Improved 8-megapixel camera
- Siri voice assistant
Cons:
- Identical design to predecessor
- Upgrading from an iPhone 4 less appealing
