Apple's iPhone 7 Plus brings a solid hardware upgrade over its predecessor but fails to impress with substantial improvements in design or looks. Is that an issue? It depends on how you look at it.

The iPhone 7 Plus is one of the best point-and-shoot cameras ever -- and it's a great phone, too.- Dual rear cameras delivers true 2x optical zoom, with a cool bokeh Portrait mode. Battery lasts longer than last year'
- s model, and longer than iPhone 7. Water resistant. Fast. Bigger storage options include 256GB model for serious photographers.
- There'
- s no standard headphone jack: you'
- ll have to use Lightning, or the included adapter, or go wireless. Design is showing its age, as competing phones squeeze a 5.5-inch screen into smaller, sexier bodies. And it'
- s really expensive.

Absence of headphone jack aside, the 7 Plus is the best iPhone you can buy, with more memory than its smaller counterpart and dual cameras that peer toward Apple's future.- Dual cameras., Copious memory and storage., Water-resistant design., Faster on all performance measures, with better battery life, than last year'
- s iPhones., iOS still leads on high-quality games and creative apps.
- Lacks a 3.5mm jack, and there aren'
- t a lot of Lightning-compatible headphones yet., Not all models are compatible with all carriers.

Apple has created an incredibly well built smartphone that won't disappoint. If it comes across as lackluster, it shouldn't. You'll be hard pushed to find a smartphone as capable and well-rounded elsewhere on the market.- Big screen size, Great battery life and iOS 10 improvements, Most powerful iPhone yet so great for gaming, Water-resistance, Updated Home button, Dual camera fun
- No headphone socket, Dual camera depth effect imperfections, Big and heavy - so won'
- t be suitable for all, Screen resolution behind the flagship curve, Expensive
iPhone 7 Plus review
Apple's iPhone 7 Plus offers a familiar 5.5-inch display and marked design changes, both good and bad. It launched a new home button pad, a waterproof design, and no headphone jack. Its portrait photos are a big selling points, as is its price next to the newer iPhone XS and iPhone 8.- Powerful for its price
- Excellent camera
- Solid battery life
- No headphone jack
- Screen still only Full HD
