Apple iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus hands-on review
They might not come with Animojis but there’s a lot to love about Apple’s more affordable new iPhones. There’s no edge-to-edge screen or Face ID, either, but opposable thumbs are one of the things that set humans apart from the animals, so it’s worth keeping them well worked and reminding them of that. What the new iPhone 8 models do get is the new A11 Bionic processors and top-notch cameras (particularly where the 8 Plus is concerned), plus they’ll fit most of your iPhone 7 cases and accessories. Wireless charging is included here as it is on the iPhone X, and the new design sure does look pretty. No, they're (probably) not going to be as good as the X overall, but if your bank account frowns at the thought of a £1000 smartphone, you won't go far wrong by picking up an 8 or 8 Plus. We'll have a full review for you very soon.

The iPhone 8 (Rs64,000 (64 GB); Rs77,000 (256 GB)) and iPhone 8 Plus (Rs73,000 (64 GB); Rs86,000 (256 GB)) have retained a lot of the design language from the predecessors, the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.

Mashable Choice is a badge of honor, reserved for the absolute best stuff you can see, use, or do. If it’s Choice, it’s worth your time. Apple has few secrets left, but it did pull a fast one on us last week when it unveiled its cutting-edge, all-new flagship as “iPhone X” (pronounced “iPhone ten”)...

The iPhone 8 is an attractive, sleek smartphone. Back in 2017 the A11 Bionic chipset provided the highest benchmark scores we'd ever seen, leaving Android rivals in the dirt, and the low-light camera performance was a marked improvement on the iPhone 7.

The iPhone 8 is the best iPhone released to date because it has much better battery life, an improved camera and wireless charging – but it’s inherently boring. It has glass on the back, sure, but even without sticking it in a case it’s difficult to tell for the casual observer.- Pros: 24-hour-plus battery, great camera, wireless charging, fingerprint scanner, water resistant
- Cons: 2014 design, boring, large bezels around the screen, no headphone jack, no fast-charger in the box, expensive

You'll need to make your own mind up about this one, since it's a refined smartphone but a lacklustre upgrade. Had Apple included a fast charger and maybe some form of wireless charging pad, it would have matched the 8/10 awarded to last year’s iPhone 7 Plus.

Apple launched the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus in September at the inaugural event held at the Steve Jobs theatre. Following Apple’s previous naming schemes for the iPhone, there’s an argument to suggest these devices should have been christened with the 7s moniker.
iPhone 8 review
There are some great things about the iPhone 8 including the addition of wireless charging, 64GB storage as standard and a fast A11 Bionic processor. However, this all comes at a higher price and everything else is largely the same so we can't imagine or recommend iPhone 7 users upgrading. Those on an older device like an iPhone 6 or older will experience a much bigger change. Comparing the iPhone to Android rivals is difficult as many users will be on one side of the fence already. Forgetting about software, the iPhone 8 simply doesn't excite like flagship rivals including the Galaxy S8 and LG G6.
