Apple iPhone SE review – too small for most people
The iPhone SE is one of the best of the very few small phones still available. It would be a significant downgrade from an iPhone 6, isn't a quantum leap over the iPhone 5S and should only really be considered if size is the overriding factor.
Pros:
- one-day battery
- good rear camera
- decent screen
- easy to hold
- easy to fit in a pocket
- fits in existing iPhone 5 accessories
Cons:
- very small screen
- edges are hard on hands
- looks like an iPhone 5 or 5S
- selfie camera isn't great
- no expandable storage or removable battery

I really wanted to love the iPhone SE. From the moment it was announced I just knew it made sense. A compact iPhone with the best design the range has ever had, plus the very best performance and camera, should have made one hell of a handset.
Pros:
- Great design
- Well priced
- Excellent camera
Cons:
- Screen feels old
- Slightly too small
- 16GB minimum storage is disappointing

The iPhone SE is armed with the same A9 processor and 2GB RAM found inside the iPhone 6s. It also has the same integrated M9 motion co-processor, which means you can use the "Hey Siri" voice prompt to activate Siri whenever you want.
Pros:
- Great benchmark performance
- Long battery life
- Relatively affordable for an iPhone
- Great rear camera
Cons:
- Looks exactly the same as the iPhone 5s
- Front camera not upgraded
- The iPhone SE should have been launched a year earlier

iPhone SE Review: Big on Value
Assuming you want a smaller screen, the iPhone SE is ounce-for-ounce one of the best bargains in tech. At $399, this is the most affordable iPhone ever, and yet it doesn't look, feel or perform like a cheap phone.

Apple iPhone SE
If you want a powerful small smartphone, the iPhone SE is by far your best choice. It is both smaller and faster than its viable Android competitors, the 4.7-inch Alcatel One Touch Idol 3 4.7 and the 5-inch HTC One A9 .
Pros:
- Fast
- Very good battery life
- Easy to use with a single hand
Cons:
- Low-res front-facing camera
- Lacks the latest Wi-Fi capabilities

Update : We're still waiting for the iPhone SE 2 to come and usurp the SE, but it's not all over for this handset as Apple's just confirmed it will get an upgrade to iOS 11 later this year. Why should you care about the iPhone SE?
