Apple® iPhone X

Got my hands on one early, thats my impression iPhone X has the perfect combo of phone / display size. For the first time since first iPhone I am happy with the way it seats in hand & in the shirt pocket.

And the iPhone X certainly doesn't disappoint. It is a massive departure from what we usually get from an iPhone. For a start, the home button that's been a fixture of the device for 10 years, is gone. And in its place, is even more real estate for the dazzling 5.8-inch Super Retina display.

Apple iPhone X review

By letting go of long-standing features such as a physical home button, Apple has brought its smartphone bang up to date. The X has the best screen of any iPhone, ever, and it looks the part too - even with that notch. FaceID works better than any other facial recognition system you’ll find on a phone right now (even if it’s not perfect), and the dual rear cameras take excellent photos - if not quite as natural or detailed as Google’s algorithm-assisted Pixel 2 XL. Beyond some cute face-tracking fun with emoji, though, the X doesn’t have many unique features you won’t also find on the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus. Both get that fancy new A11 CPU and wireless charging, and neither forces you to relearn a load of gestures to get around iOS. They’re a hell of a lot cheaper, too. You’re paying a premium here for that bold new look, FaceID, and not much else. It’s not like that ever put anyone off buying an Apple product before, though, is it? If you want the best iPhone, you’re going to have to find the cash - the X has set the bar, and the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus just can’t jump high enough.
Pros:
  • Gorgeous screen - even with the notch
  • Versatile camera takes great photos
  • Slick OS runs beautifully on powerful hardware
Cons:
  • Apps look odd without updates
  • FaceID isn’t 100% accurate
  • Super expensive

Apple iPhone X

After a week of using the iPhone X, we can say with confidence that Apple has created a revolutionary and almost magical device. While it may not be as significant as the original iPhone, it introduces several new technologies that redefine the experience and move the needle significantly ahead.
Pros:
  • Face ID is a game changer
  • New Super Retina OLED screen provides a whole new level of display quality
  • iPhone "Plus" dual-lens camera system in an iPhone 8-sized package
  • Wider aperture and OIS on 2X lens should provide better 2X photos.
Cons:
  • The higher aspect ratio means the screen isn't actually larger than the iPhone Plus models, despite the larger diagonal
  • The front TrueDepth camera notch and rear camera bump detract from an otherwise great aesthetic
  • Lack of Touch ID makes Apple Pay slightly less convenient.

Charges slowly

Nice phone, takes great photos, good battery life my only complaint is that no fast charging out the box, Apple charges over premium for this phone and can't even include accessories needed for full potential, you still need to spend over $50 to get fast charging working unacceptable at this price...

iPhone X review: Apple finally knocks it out of the park

The iPhone X is without a doubt the best iPhone Apple has ever made, and it represents a much needed leap forward in design for the company. It still runs the same apps as other iPhones and has the same camera on the back and the same processor and memory as the iPhone 8 Plus.
Pros:
  • brilliant screen
  • all-screen design
  • great camera
  • good battery life
  • water resistant
  • wireless charging
  • Face ID
Cons:
  • no headphone socket
  • no fingerprint scanner
  • glass will break if dropped
  • very expensive
  • no expandable storage or removable battery
  • no fast charger in the box
  • the notch
