Acer H6510BD Home Theater Projector Review

Let's start with the basics. This Acer H6510 BD is a single-chip DLP projector. It offers true 1080p resolution at a price point under $800!. Like the more expensive H9500BD Acer projector that we reviewed last year, but unlike the older H6500, the Acer H6510BD is fully 3D capable.  Although the...

Plenty of brightness - measured a maximum of over 2800 lumens; Reasonably good color; right out of the box; Good looking bright lumens with reasonably good color; Slightly better than average black levels for the price; Lamp can be changed without unmounting the projector; Geared for the tyical

Lack of savable User memories.  The slightest change wipes out your settings; Remote control is not backlit; Black levels are pretty entry level; Lacks CFI for smooth motion (typical for entry level projectors; Reasonably noisy.  Not exceptionally so; especially for a DLP projector but it certainly

Acer H6510BD Projector

The Acer H6510BD Projector is a big step up from the Acer H6500 that it replaces in Acer's line (although the H6500 is still available from various Web sites at this writing). Both offer full HD resolution, at a native 1080p, but the H6510BD is brighter, at a rated 3,000 lumens; it adds full 3D...

For the price this is an amazing projector!

This projector blows my old Benq w1000 out of the water. Both projectors have a native resolution of 1080p but watching Avatar with this Acer I am seeing details that didn't exist with the Benq. Features- Put plainly this projector has all of the features that "I" need.

Price; very quiet; very bright; very sharp

Placement flexibility; black levels; light leakage

Very impressed

My 3D content is Half-SBS format and the projector's 'auto' mode doesn't handle it correctly by default. I have to manually set 'side-by-side' mode in the menu each time I go to 3D mode as it seems to always reset back to 'auto' when you leave 3D mode.

Stunning picture right out of the box

Not really a con; but if you are replacing an older projector; this might have a shorter throw or lack the adjustments you might need.

Better than 1080P

Awesome projector literally awesome. I've owned a few projectors over the years (both LCD and DLP) and this one is by far the best. I will admit i was a little skeptical about purchasing this product as it was an Acer product and i haven't known them for making any "projectors", but since I've owned...

Lightweight, Bright, Inexpensive, crystal clear 3D projector. Definitely A+

The online information provided by the manufacturer is very accurate. This is a very user friendly projector. Advantages: Bright (clear bright image with window open next to screen) Lightweight (about 2-3 lbs) Great picture 2D + 3D (sharp and high frequency) Very Inexpensive.

Personal Experience I have only had this PJ a week and I think it is awesome.3D is very good, 2D to 3D is impressive but not great. my old optoma 101 and 201's work great.one of the reasons I went with this PJ. I previously owned the optoma HD66, infocus78, older Benq and sony plus a Acer H5360.

Acer H6510BD review

While most home cinema projectors are comparatively dim and designed for use in a darkened room, the DLP Acer H6510BD has a bright 3,000 ANSI lumens lamp. This means it's more of an all-round projector that you can use in a lit room.

Acer H6510BD Projector Review

For those who don't see or don't mind rainbow artifacts, the Acer H6510BD Projector is a potential bargain, with 1080p resolution and full 3D support. (3.5 out of 5) Pros Inexpensive Native 1080p resolution Full 3D support for video sources like Blu-ray players and FiOS or cable boxes Cons...

Inexpensive; Native 1080p resolution; Full 3D support for video sources like Blu-ray players and FiOS or cable boxes

Potentially annoying rainbow artifacts; Underpowered audio

Camera Club Use.

To satisfy latest trends in image size required by our area federation we needed to pension off our old 1024x768 projector and get a 1400x1050 capable device. After much research, and finding the dedicated (SXGA) 1400x1050 specific devices very expensive, I opted for the 1080P HD devices that give...
