Brother ADS-4300N Professional Desktop Scanner Review

A couple of steps south and a few hundred dollars less than our recent Editors' Choice honoree the Brother ADS-4900W, the Brother ADS-4300N Professional Desktop Scanner ($349.99) is a low-to-medium-volume machine designed for home or small offices. It's a fine sheetfed scanner at a reasonable price, but it falls just short of dislodging our current favorite midrange document scanners: the Fujitsu ScanSnap iX1600, and the Epson RapidReceipt RR-600W.A No-Nonsense Sheetfed Document Scanner The ADS-4300N is the middle unit in a recent five-scanner launch by Brother, comprising the abovementioned ADS-4900W, the recently reviewed ADS-4700W, and the ADS-3100 and ADS-3300W models now in our review pipeline. At 7.5 by 11.7 by 8.5 inches (HWD) and 6.1 pounds, it's the same size as, but slightly lighter than, its ADS-4700W sibling, and comparable to most other scanners in this class. Some more of its many high-rated competitors include the HP ScanJet Pro N4000 snw1, the Canon imageFormula R5...

Brother's ADS-4300N is a highly capable entry-level-to-midrange sheetfed document scanner aimed at small offices and workgroups.
