Canon PowerShot A2300

The Canon PowerShot A2300 ($149.99 direct) may seem like a bargain on the surface. The attractive metal-bodied camera is compact, it grabs sharp 16-megapixel photos, sports a 5x zoom range, and it's pretty responsive.

Inexpensive; Compact; Sharp lens; Fairly speedy

Poor high ISO performance; Lacks image stabilization; Limited video support

Canon PowerShot A2300

The Canon PowerShot A2300 is a budget point-and-shoot-compact introduced in January 2012. It has a 16 Megapixel CCD sensor and a 2.7in screen with 230k pixels. The 5x zoom boasts a 28mm wide angle and a bright f2.8 maximum aperture, an improvement on the 4x zooms of the 2011 budget PowerShots.

5x optical zoom; Small and slim; light and sleek; 16 Megapixel Sensor; Dedicated help button

No optical image stabilisation; Digital IS is not full resolution; No optical zoom while in movie mode; Poor High ISO noise performance

Pretty Awesome..

This is a great little camera packed with some awesome features. The zoom i am not a fan of... increases noise. The focusing is amazing. Menus are easy to use but take a while too get used to. Its semi manual fuction (P) mode is pretty good considering it is a point and shoot.

The Good and The Bad!!!!

The Canon PowerShot A2400 IS and PowerShot A2300 have very good picture quality for their

the better; Fine detail and sharpness are very good up to ISO 200

The lenses require a lot of light or high ISOs when zoomed in

Cute little camera, easy to use, great photos

This is a cute little camera that is only 20mm thick so it easy fits into a pocket or purse. As small as a mobile but takes much better pictures with a 5x zoom lens and exposure controls. The front is made of metal while the rest is plastic but has generally a very solid feel to it.

Reliable; Durable; Superior build quality; Easy to use

Canon PowerShot A2300 Digital Camera Review

The Canon PowerShot A2300 is a digital compact with 5x optical zoom and 16 megapixel sensor, Daniel Bell gives us his verdict.

Built-in help guide; Available in a good range of colours; Good creative modes; Images have really good colour reproduction; Easy to use

Only 720p HD video recording; No fast continuous shooting; Image detail isn't sufficient for large prints

Great camera for an amateur.

This camera is a great value for the price. I thought the directions were very explicit and made everything about the device easy to use. For the casual photographer pictures will be sharp and colorful. The thin shape makes it easy to take pictures and to carry.

Easy to set up,value for price

Short life battery
