D-Link DGS 16-port switch worked great! Plug & play device...no need to buy new...saved $$ with this used switch for small office environment.
I use this item to network up to 7 devices (including 5 computers) in my home office. It is a solid performer and has greatly reduced latency between devices. It would be nice if it had an on off switch, but I can always pull the plug if I want to turn if off.
Ease of setup; Relibility
No on off switch
I've had this only a short time but it was easy to set up and use. Just plugged it in and started running a gigabit speeds. Time will tell how long it lasts but it's great so far.
This switch is so easy to setup, and works great right out of the box. I had several cables leading from one bedroom, and across my wall into my PC, Apple TV and PS3. I plugged one cable into the switch, and ran the 3 cables from the switch into the PC, Apple TV and PS3.
I have a confined space in a wiring cabinet that this unit fits in nicely. The double tier ports instead of all-in-a-line makes the difference. By the way, the unit performs well, also.
Easy To Set Up; Fast; Small
None So Far
The reviews here posted after April 2010 say theirs did not come with a fan? Yet older models including mine did. Having read the complaints about the fan noise when I first bought mine, I unscrewed the case and just removed it. That was 18 months ago and I never had a problem.
Excellent unit; Plug 'n Play at its finest; Had mine for about 18 months with no issues; Total of 30 IP addresses on the network with some media-heavy traffic
Mine came with a small and very loud fan before I opened up the unit and removed it.
Our company network just went cat6 and switching servers to workgroups everything is running off 5 of these switches and the building productivity is soaring... heads and tails above the older 1026g.
simple; auto-config; rackmount
love this switch its always been a good one and very stable. The only thing I'm not a huge fan of is it feels like cheap plastic but don't judge a book by its cover!
After using DLink hubs and switches for years with nothing but reliable service, I again went to them for a new home network switch. All was well for about 12 months, then it would randomly halt network traffic until I rebooted it. After about six months of that behavior, it just died.
Does what it says on the tin. Fast, efficient, and up and running in a few minutes. Solved my problem of having an old switch that didnt support upnp. So very happy, might even buy another one to replace my aging router switch.
