DJI Mavic 2 Pro review: High-tech drone gets Hasselblad high-five
There's a very good reason why DJI is the market leader of drones: its combination of high-tech features, flight modes and video/image qualit is an unbeatable combination. With the Mavic 2 Pro, that reputation is only enhanced once more.
Pros:
- Stunning footage
- Great still photos
- Obstacle avoidance is brilliant
- Flight modes work really well
- Super smooth flight - even in wind
Cons:
- It's expensive
- Remote requires phone to be plugged in
- App is still not the most user friendly
- Non-HDR shots can be grainy

Great!
I bought this drone specifically for the still picture quality. So far I'm pretty impressed. It's no replacement for a regular camera but it's a big improvement from the older models. Very intuitive to operate and the battery holds for a solid 20 minutes.

Crash on second flight. Not a very happy camper.
The thread in the Mavic Pilot forum is a complete dissection of my experience with this new drone. Had it two days and two spontaneous crashes. Looks like the right rear motor failed yet recovered. I would be very cautions about using it over people until this error is researched.

There are few out there who'd dispute the reality that DJI make the best drones consumers can realistically buy.
Pros:
- Maneuvers are really powerful tools
- Long flight time
Cons:
- Doesn't feel like a major upgrade over last-gen
- Expensive
