DJI Mavic Pro 2 : Release date, leaks & expectations
With DJI Mavic Pro being the best foldable drone (I'll even dare to say BY FAR) available on the market, a ton of DJI fans are already turning their heads towards the next version.
DJI introduced the next iteration of the Mavic drone series in Brooklyn this morning. Replacing the Mavic Pro are two new drones: the DJI Mavic 2 Pro, and the DJI Mavic 2 Zoom. It's been almost two years since DJI first released the Mavic Pro, and DJI has included some major improvements to the pair...
DJI Mavic 2 Pro, Mavic 2 Zoom add Hasselblad quality and optical zoom to folding drones
More of everything, but still ready to travel anywhere. DJI's bringing the Mavic Pro back, and it has a friend.
DJI Mavic 2 Pro review
The DJI Mavic 2 Pro is the most powerful consumer drone you can buy thanks to its gimbal-stabilized Hasselblad camera with a 1-inch CMOS sensor for stunning aerial 4K video and photos.- Great foldable drone design
- 1-inch 4K camera sensor
- New modes like Hyperlapse
- Very expensive
- Can't shoot 4K at 60fps
- Mavic 2 Zoom is compelling alternative
DJI Mavic 2 Pro review: High-tech drone gets Hasselblad high-five
There's a very good reason why DJI is the market leader of drones: its combination of high-tech features, flight modes and video/image qualit is an unbeatable combination. With the Mavic 2 Pro, that reputation is only enhanced once more.- Stunning footage
- Great still photos
- Obstacle avoidance is brilliant
- Flight modes work really well
- Super smooth flight - even in wind
- It's expensive
- Remote requires phone to be plugged in
- App is still not the most user friendly
- Non-HDR shots can be grainy
Great!
I bought this drone specifically for the still picture quality. So far I'm pretty impressed. It's no replacement for a regular camera but it's a big improvement from the older models. Very intuitive to operate and the battery holds for a solid 20 minutes.
Crash on second flight. Not a very happy camper.
The thread in the Mavic Pilot forum is a complete dissection of my experience with this new drone. Had it two days and two spontaneous crashes. Looks like the right rear motor failed yet recovered. I would be very cautions about using it over people until this error is researched.
DJI Mavic 2 Pro Review
DJI's Mavic 2 line is unquestionably the king of the skies.- Omnidirectional obstacle avoidance
- Responsive
- reliable controls
- Powerful autonomous flight
- Excellent camera options
- Non-modular cameras
DJI's Mavic 2 Pro and Zoom take drone photography to new heights
Drone photography and videography has been around for a number of years, thanks to the popularity of drones from DJI and others. But if you've spent any amount of time looking at drone photos on Instagram, you've probably noticed that the images and video from drones all look very similar, and...- Excellent image quality
- True flat color profile for video
- Reliable flying controls
- True optical zoom
- Less expensive than the Pro model
- Super-resolution mode for detailed stills
- Reliable flying controls
- Expensive
- Not as portable as prior Mavic models
- No major battery increase
- Video lacks detail compared to Pro model
- No major battery increase over prior Mavics
There are few out there who'd dispute the reality that DJI make the best drones consumers can realistically buy.
- Maneuvers are really powerful tools
- Long flight time
- Doesn't feel like a major upgrade over last-gen
- Expensive
