Fujifilm X-E4 review: Big quality in a small package
Although it's the first Fujifilm X series camera to offer a screen that can face forward, we don't actually think that'll be the main appeal for its target audience. That comes down to a range of points: from the top-tier image quality from the X-Trans CMOS 4 sensor, to the small-scale body and retro cool design; to the capable autofocus system and variety of filters and film stocks.
Pros:
- Attractive and small-scale design with classic-looking control dials
- Same great image quality of Fujifilm X-T4 - but for less cash
- Super autofocus system for stills and movies
Cons:
- No lock on exposure comp dial - easy to knock out of place
- Fiddly to position screen forward
- Autofocus for moving subjects quicker in some competitors
- Slow USB-C charging

Fujifilm X-E4 review: small size, big image quality
The X-E4 is a stylish camera capable of excellent image quality and packed with useful features. It's the brand's smallest X-mount offering and a good choice for street, travel, and generalist photographers. It's also capable of strong video performance, though there's no in-body stabilization for hand-held shooting. The only thing the X-E4 doesn't excel at is AF tracking; you'll find quite a few of its competitors offer better tracking and face/eye detection.
Pros:
- Generalists looking for a capable and compact interchangeable lens camera
- Street and travel photographers
- Those wishing to shoot JPEGs only.
Cons:
- Sports and action shooters needing the best AF performance. Video shooters needing in-body stabilization
