JBL Bar 5.0 MultiBeam review: The best all-in-one soundbar solution?

If you're looking to enhance your TV's audio prospects and don't own a super-massive screen, this unobtrusive single box solution does a sterling job for an affordable price - with only a few minor hiccups along the way.

Convincingly enhances TV audio quality; All-in-one box solution - no sub/separates taking up space; Good musicality as a speaker; Atmos adds extra dimensionality;

Lacks true surround; No sub/separates to later enhance setup; Calibration/presets not obvious; Occasional syncing issues; Passthrough can be slow;

Great features I love it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love how this surround sound is able to connect to devices multiple ways Bluetooth , chromecast and Airplay. It’s a neat all in one surround sound solution, I’ve recently watched the Wonder Woman it gave a perfect job of adding that extra sound and made a great experience. it’s. Also great as just a speaker to listen to some tunes the sound is louder than I expected ! You can’t add any subwoofer or other speakers but that’s the purpose of the all in one box. It’s still does the job for, So If you're looking to enhance your TV's audio prospects and don't own a telly over 50” , this single box solution does a good for an affordable price.

Impressive amount of features, decent sound

I got this soundbar through Reviewclub a few weeks ago. The soundbar delivers a lot of volume and bass for its size and build quality is excellent. It includes a good set of features such as AirPlay, Alexa and virtual Dolby Atmos. Dolby Atmos does elevate the sound stage, but do not expect the same immersion as larger sounbars with a true surround sound configuration such as the Samungs HW Q950T. As for sound quality and clarity, I find the 5.0 MultiBeam surpassed by the similarly priced Sonos Beam. The Sonos Beam also allows for upgrades in the form of satelite speakers and a subwoofer, thus I think the Beam is the more appealing product in this segment.

Great bass from a sleek setup

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall, for the size of this soundbar, the bass is pretty great, as no extra subwoofer would be needed for most rooms. I have a 40 inch TV in my room and this bar fits well in front of it. The sound fills the room very well, and honestly can even fill an entire living room just fine. I love that it has controllable bass, once turned up, it is pretty great! I like that I can stream to this bar at any time through my phone as it's always on standby, so instantly I can connect through my favorite music streaming service. One thing, however, it seemed like the HDMI connection to a TV did not carry as good of sound. Overall, for the price, this soundbar easily can be the only system needed for a home theater!

Great soundbar

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am reviewing the new JBL Bar 5.0 Multibeam Sound Bar. This is replacing a 2 year old JBL Soundbar 2.0 All In One. What a big difference sound is much crisper and has a better true surround sound. Voices are clear when watching movies. Very easy to mount with included wall mount brackets. Only negative was I had to put knew anchors in wall do to new bar being a little longer and different bracket holes. I would like to see JBL use similar brackets across all their sound bars. Definetly would recommend to anyone looking for a good affordable, easy to hook up soundbar.

JBL Bar 5.0 Multibeam soundbar review: Add a little Dolby Atmos to your life

As the soundbar category rapidly grows, with more and more options and prices, there’s a tendency for these devices to get complicated. Wireless subwoofers, satellite surround speakers, and even voice assistants are all part of the mix now, making your purchase decision harder than ever. The $350 JBL Bar 5.0 Multibeam is, by comparison, relatively simple and affordable, and yet it’s still packed with useful features and solid sound quality. Best of all, it offers one of the easiest ways to dip your toes into Dolby Atmos, the immersive, 3D surround sound format that is rapidly becoming a standard for both streaming movies and streaming music. Is it the right soundbar for you? Let’s check it out. JBL throws in everything you need: The soundbar, a power cable, an HDMI cable, a slender remote with two AA batteries, a set of wall-mount brackets with a mounting template, and a quick-start guide. There’s one small foam wrapper that protects the soundbar, but the majority of the packaging is r...

Simple and easy to use; Dolby Atmos; AirPlay; Chromecast;

No EQ settings; Bass can't compete with subwoofers;
