The Surface Go 3 has had a nice performance boost over its predecessor, but the meaningful upgrades end there. Compared to Microsoft’s premium 2-in-1s, there’s a lot you’re missing out on.
Pros:
- Premium build, Decent Core i3 performance, Great video calling experience
Cons:
- Poor battery life, Dated design, Can be expensive

A super-portable machine for getting bits and pieces done while on the go, but it's just not adept enough when it comes to power and battery life. That makes it difficult to see how this device represents the Surface name well, as even a decent Chromebook would be preferable.
Pros:

- re free to install apps and executables as you please, The webcam is genuinely decent, Kickstand design is great
Cons:
- Lacklustre performance and battery life, Type Cover keyboard not included, Chunky screen bezel looks dated, Only one USB-C (ditch the Surface Connect port already)

The Microsoft Surface Go 3 is decent for school use. It's a very portable device as it's compact and lightweight, and its battery lasts a little over seven hours of light productivity, so depending on your school schedule, you might be able to get through the day on a full charge.

The Surface Go 3 is an okay laptop that can sometimes be a mediocre tablet.
Pros:
- Super portable, Full desktop OS, Nice display
Cons:
- Poor performance relative to competition, Necessary accessories are an added cost, Minor changes from last year

Overall, I feel the Surface Go 3 is a good device though not exceptional. Sure, I get that Microsoft is charging a premium for the Surface Go 3 (the cost drastically increases when you include the accessories).

So far so good with a couple of things to unpick
So far it is easy to use and does everything I want it to. Not sure about two things that are worth considering before purchase: S Mode is something I wasn't aware of and limits the types of apps that can be used - currently exploring this further. Second thing is whether I need security software for it. It says it comes with it but is that sufficient? The Microsoft Store does not have Eset Nod 32 which is my preferred anti-virus software and for which I have a license but can't use on this device in S Mode. You see the problem. I was looking for a new laptop and was hesitant when I purchased the surface go even after seeing all the reviews online I am still blown away by this device and truely wish I had bought one previously.
