Pretty much the second the email hit my inbox to request a review of Mirror's Edge Catalyst, I've been all over this game. I greatly enjoyed the original game , if only slightly put off by its linearity, and then, when Mirror's Edge Catalyst was announced, I could only offer up a slight, ‘meh'.
I really wanted to give this game a high score because it is a good game. But it has to be compared to the original and unfortunatley it doesn't live up to that. For me the main problems with the original weren't that big.
I bought this for my son and he was very pleased with it! Kept him busy for a while.
Mirror's Edge returns with the heavily anticipated sequel, but does it meet the expectations? I'm a big fan of the first Mirror's Edge video game, which was a breath of fresh air in the gaming industry. This video game on Xbox One is all about the movement of the main character, Faith.
Graphics; gameplay; atmosphere; multiplayer
Occasionally easy for experienced players
Took time to install but the first time playing it was great I had a great time playing I like the graphics
Just awesome service!! Immediate response to a query and delivery was super quick. Game is very good but lacks the fluidity as from the first from the Xbox 360. Visually quite stunning with a more refined hand to hand combat.
Very natural controls, good movement, good sets and landscapes
Eight years is a long time in video game years. Consider this: It took Rockstar eight years to release GTA: San Andreas, GTA IV, and GTA V. Ubisoft released Assassin's Creed games all the way from the original to Black Flag during the same timeframe.
While Catalyst keeps up the great first-person parkour action of the first game, the awkward smashing of its parts into the ubiquitous, open-world model hasn't done Mirror's Edge any favors.
