Nikon NIKKOR Z 35mm F1.8S Lens JMA102DA review
It’s quite a lot to pay for a humble 35mm f/1.8, but the Nikkor Z 35mm f/1.8 S’s optical performance immediately shows where the money’s been spent. Nikkor Z 35mm f/1.8 S lens
Fitted to the Z7 camera body, this lens is great for street photography, being fast, weather-resistant and providing wide enough coverage to encompass some of the subjects’ environment while enabling the photographer to get reasonably close to subjects.
Nikon Z 35mm f/1.8 S
Using the Nikon Z 7 with the Nikkor Z 35mm f/1.8 S lens is a great experience. It’s well balanced in its body design, and it’s good to see that it shares the same level of weatherproofing as the Z 7 body.

Nikon Nikkor Z 35mm f/1.8 S Review
The Nikon Nikkor Z 35mm f/1.8 S is a sharp, light prime lens for Nikon Z cameras that's built well and delivers excellent images, but is on the pricey side. Nikon recently launched its first full-frame mirrorless camera, and with it a handful of native lenses. The Nikkor Z 35mm f/1.8 S ($849.95) is the first prime lens to ship—there's a 50mm f/1.8 coming next month. If you're a fan of the 35mm angle of view, be happy to know it's a good one. It captures crisp images, sports a bright aperture for a shallow depth of field and low-light photography, and is sealed to prevent dust and moisture from getting inside your camera. It's an excellent lens, albeit one with an asking price on the high side, and a good fit for Z buyers who want a 35mm prime. Light and Bright The Nikkor Z 35mm shares its outward look with the other Z lens available at launch, the Z 24-70mm f/4 S. It's an almost plain black lens, with a mix of metal and polycarbonate construction. Markings are in understated white text, a departure from the metallic gold Nikon uses for its modern SLR lenses. The only bit of flash is a glossy Nikkor S logo on the side of the barrel. T...- Quite sharp

Nikon Z 35mm f1.8S review
The Nikon Z 35mm f1.8S is a good mild wide angle prime for owners of Z-series mirrorless bodies: Resolution and contrast is as good as or even better than from the Zeiss 28mm f1.4 Otus - which is no small feat.
Nikon NIKKOR Z 35mm F1.8S Lens JMA102DA review
As one of two prime lenses currently available for Nikon’s brand new Z Mount, the Nikon NIKKOR Z 35mm f1.8 S features excellent weather sealing in a compact, lightweight package. Aside from Canon, who makes a 35mm f1.8 Macro for their RF Mount, no other Full Frame Mirrorless system currently on the...

Nikon NIKKOR Z 35mm F1.8S Lens JMA102DA review
The Nikon Z 35mm F1.8 S is a solid medium-wideangle lens for the Z series, which offers excellent sharpness and pleasant handling characteristics on the Z6 and Z7. Low light fans might miss a wider aperture, and optically, the 35mm cannot compete with its (cheaper) cousin the Z 50mm f1.8 S, but for...- Low-light or wide-aperture fans that need sharp images at fast apertures
- Portrait fans who might be bothered by the colored fringing in out of focus areas
- those requiring the absolute fastest autofocus
- video shooters looking for linear focus response
