Nikon Z5 II First Impressions
This Friday, I set my alarm for the early hours to catch the peak of bird activity. I’ll admit, I was also very curious to see how the newest member of the Nikon cameras family – the Z5 II – would perform in the field.

I've shot over 1,000 images on the new Nikon Z5 II, and it redefines what an entry-level full-frame camera can do
The Nikon Z5 II is a calculated and well-executed camera that blurs the line between affordability and performance. Despite being angled as the brand's entry-level model, the body has received significant upgrades over its rather pedestrian predecessor.
Pros:
- Comparable autofocus performance to higher-end Z-Mount bodies, Superb design, EVF, and IBIS, Better JPEGs thanks to Nikon Imaging Cloud
Cons:
- Pricier than previous iteration, 1.5x crop for 4K 60fps video

Nikon Z5II Review
Nikon’s entry level Z5II full frame camera will appeal to a broad range of photographers seeking maximum performance and bang for their buck, yet an approachably intuitive set up and handling.
Pros:
- Full frame sensor in relatively compact, lightweight mirrorless body, Flip-out, angle adjustable LCD touch screen plus eye-level viewfinder, Comfortably deep handgrip and intuitive manual control layout
Cons:
- Deeper grip means a chunkier camera overall, DSLR-like handling won’t suit everyone, Lenses required to get the best out of the sensor are expensive bought standalone

Cons:
- Price is up dramatically from previous model. Megapixel cound it on the low side.

Nikon Z5 II
The Nikon Z5 II provide remarkably good value for money for an ‘entry-level’ camera. Whether you shoot stills or video, you’ll find it a feature-rich, competent piece of equipment that does virtually all the things you want – with a higher level of performance than most competing cameras.
