The Nikon Z 50 is a good mirrorless camera with a lot of appeal to photographers already invested in the system, but isn't quite as capable as its rivals.
Pros:
- Light and compact
- Big, crisp EVF
- Speedy response
- 11fps continuous drive
- Strong 4K video quality
- Built-in flash
- Compatible with Nikon SLR lenses via adapter.
Cons:
- Few native lenses
- Subject tracking not as good as competitors
- Touch features could be more robust
- Lowest resolution in class
- Selfie screen design is a little awkward.

The Nikon Z50 enters the APS-C mirrorless market with the wide-diameter Z-mount introduced for the full-frame Z6 and Z7. Two dim variable-aperture DX lenses were introduced with the Z50, although it works withe all native Z-mount lenses.

- Accurate autofocus
- Quick and responsive
- Comfortabe ergonmics

Cons:
- Slow AF in low-light
- Poor Continuous AF
- Touch-only controls
- Poor EC button location
- Preview not always Exposure-Priority
- Bizarre Auto ISO
- Only DX lenses are dim
- Condensation prone

Nikon Z50 Mirrorless Camera twin Lens kit - 16-50mm & 50-250mm Lens VOK050WA review
The Z50 is reasonably priced and doesn’t disappoint. We were super impressed by the autofocus system; it performed very well. We would have liked it to have more dynamic range, but for the price it is acceptable. Its low light performance is fine, though a bit below most mirrorless cameras.

. “How can that be?!” I hear you say. The Z50 is a nice camera, it works well, ergonomically it’s near perfect, it produces nice images, but there’s nothing special about it. Because of that, it lags behind the competition.
