Olympus SZ-31MR review
Olympus has packed an incredible amount into this little camera. Top billing goes to the 24x zoom, which puts it in competition with bulky SLR-styled ultra-zoom cameras. Videos are recorded at up to 1080p and 60fps, which is twice the frame rate of most cameras.

Olympus SZ-31MR Digital Camera Review
Olympus's latest release the SZ-31MR couples an incredible amount of practical features with a super 25-600mm zoom lens and touch screen to create an absolute workhorse of a travel camera.

The series S cameras from Olympus are meant for travelers and so the idea is to pack in a whole lot of features. And this is exactly what its new SZ-31MR does. Load tones of features and specs into a small point and shoot camera with 16 CMOS sensor, 24x zoom and full HD recording.

Olympus SZ-31MR iHS Digital Camera Review
The Olympus SZ-31MR iHS is a competent, feature-rich travel-zoom, but too few improvements have been made since the SZ-30 to earn our complete recommendation. Given this model's problems with sharpness, distortion, and noise reduction, we think $400 is too much for the resulting image quality.
Pros:
- Accurate colors
- Fast burst mode
Cons:
- Poor sharpness
- Annoying handling quirk

Olympus' new travel-zoom is feature-rich and a lot of fun.
Olympus' new travel zoom, the SZ-31MR, replaces the SZ-30MR in the company's lineup. This update is relatively minor, offering slight changes to the control layout, a new touchscreen rear monitor, and a small increase in speed.

Extremely pleased with the SZ-31MR iHS
I film and photograph nature and archaeological related events. I have owned Olypus digital super zoom cameras since the Camedia C-740UZ, excellent for its day. I am still using my SP-590UZ and will continue to use it as a backup. I am Very pleased with the SZ-31MR iHS.

Olympus SZ-31 MR
Last year, Olympus released the SZ-30 MR, a kind of "mini bridge" camera with a record-breaking 24x zoom. That camera turned out to be a pretty nice surprise too, even if it was ultimately let down by...
Pros:
- Record-breaking zoom in a compact camera
- Lens quality on par with competitors (or better in some cases
- Pleasant to use and handle
- Original MR functions (shooting two 720p videos
- taking a photo while filming video
- etc.
Cons:
- Sensitivity could be better: no match for Sony or Canon superzooms
- Sound gets muffled when you zoom in video mode
- Hard plastics aren't as pleasant as materials in some competitor models
- No battery guide to make sure you get it in the right way round

Olympus SZ-31MR
The Olympus SZ-MR31 is up against some pretty stiff competition in this category. It appears to be a good camera, but it does not really stand out, especially at the price. It is most likely to appeal to you if you are looking for a camera with extra lens power, but is quite easy to use.
Pros:
- Ease of use
- size to zoom ratio
- stereo sound
- fast burst mode
Cons:
- No manual exposure controls
