Really awesome? The Galaxy A54 5G is the poster child for Samsung's mid-range devices. Our review highlights upgrades over last year's model, especially the SoC, display brightness, a new sensor for the main camera as well as eSIM support.
Pros:
- very bright and accurate display, hybrid-SIM plus eSIM, fast microSD slot, long-term updates, accurate positioning, dust and waterproof
Cons:
- no DC dimming, slow charging, no wireless charging, slow memory, poor gaming performance, few audio codecs for Bluetooth

Pros:
- Good looking, well-built, mid-range, Bright, 120Hz refresh rate, colour-accurate sAMOLED, Decent day or two battery life., Great Android and One UI upgrade policy 2+4+5 (Warranty/OS/Patches), Better than social media class camera
Cons:
- No charger inbox., Video stabilisation is only available in 1080p., Phone antenna signal strength only for good tower coverage areas, Can’t mount external SSD for live storage

The Galaxy A54 has a big, bright screen and a big battery, making it a great every-day device, although one which - on balance - seems more expensive than it should be.
Pros:
- Big, vivid and bright display with 120Hz refresh, Strong battery life - almost two days of use, IP67 rated water/dust resistance, Strong main camera
Cons:
- Can stutter and lag at times, Ultrawide and macro cameras aren't the greatest, Lots of software bloat

The Samsung Galaxy A54 is a solid mid-ranger that ticks most boxes – it has a great display, premium build, a decent camera setup and a large battery – but slight performance niggles and inconsistent battery life stop it from being an instant recommendation.
Pros:
- Premium look and build, Great 120Hz AMOLED display, Huge 5,000mAh battery, New and improved 50MP camera, You want a solid all-rounder: The Galaxy A54 boasts a decent design, a pretty good display, a capable main rear camera and a large battery.
Cons:
- Inconsistent battery life, No display HDR support, Can be a bit slow at times, Slow charge times, You want the best performance possible: Even with the upgraded Exynos 1380, the Galaxy A54 isn’t quite as powerful as some key rivals like the Pixel 6a.
