We know that the smartphone has eaten the compact camera's lunch, but Samsung thinks it still has one or two tricks up its capacious sleeves before the plates and cutlery are finally cleared away.

The phone-camera hybrid that is the Galaxy K Zoom may seem like the photography enthusiast's dream device, but it's far from perfect. Its bulky size means it's impractical for everyday use, and its images, while far from poor, don't match the Galaxy S5's.
The Samsung Galaxy K Zoom's impressive 10x optical zoom gets you up close with your subject without losing image quality; It has plenty of power for most tasks and it has the latest Android software too
It's bulky and heavy; making it awkward for everyday use; while its overall image quality doesn't particularly impress and it has a disappointingly low resolution display
This phone is gifted to me by my friend. This is best gift I ever received. I love its features like zoom into details, S health lite, its excellent hardware performance, its clearer photo in low light and many more. Its camera quality is excellent.

It's probably a long time since you owned a phone as chunky as this, so it will take a bit of getting used to. Because of its size, it feels like a step backwards in terms of design, but if it means you don't need to take a camera everywhere you go, perhaps that's not such a problem.
Big zoom; Excellent camera for a phone; Good build and general specs
Very bulky; Not ideal ergonomics for a camera
Is this smartphone camera hybrid a killer combo, or clunky compromise? Find out in our Samsung Galaxy K Zoom review Can Samsung's new smartphone with an optical zoom camera win us over where the Galaxy S4 Zoom failed?

My first impressions are WOW! It has far exceeded my expectations in many ways. The build quality is really good, it feels solid and it looks really nice (mine is black). I thought the screen might be sub standard being only 720p but no, it really is sharp and bright and although super AMOLED the...
The curious case of the phone-camera crossbreed
Optical zoom is great for photo composition; High customisable software
Screen not pin-sharp; Bulky and heavy; Oversaturated display colours; Poor battery life
By no means the perfect combination of a smartphone and zoom lens, the K Zoom isn’t half bad. It’s capable of great photos and videos in the right conditions. This isn’t a device for everyone, but if the “zoom camera with a built-in smartphone” concept appeals to you and you don’t mind the size and weight, it’s currently your best option.

The camera is FANTASTIC, on paper 20mp and 10x optical zoom makes an average stand alone camera, but combined with the Android OS and Samsung software it easily replaces my fancy Sony Cybershot camera.
10 zoom; xenon flash; HD screen; build quality; photo results; Only 8gb internal memory; no tripod mount
