With this intermediate model, Samsung has struck the perfect balance and hit the proverbial bull's-eye as a sweet spot in its flagship range. Admittedly, my fellow colleague David considers that the basic Samsung Galaxy S20 as THE model to choose from among this last range of flagships.

Cons:
- Somewhat middling battery life
- Slowdown and overheating occurs when gaming play

If you’re looking for a flagship phone with category-leading speakers, the Galaxy S20+ isn’t it, especially if you want to pump out bass. The sound it does provide, though, is fairly well balanced and features solid mid-tones and treble.

Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus review
The Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus is a nearly-perfect smartphone that connects to more 5G networks and has better cameras than ever, though you’ll be paying for the privilege, as this is the priciest Plus smartphone yet. If you don’t mind ho-hum design, the phone handles anything you throw at it, and should last you years - especially assuming 5G networks stay compatible with the S20 Plus as they build out.
Pros:
- Powerful yet sleek
- Much-improved zoom
- More 5G connectivity
Cons:
- Ever-higher price
- Improvements are mostly iterative
- No more 3.5mm headphone jack
