Samsung Galaxy S23 ULTRA 5G (256GB, Lavender) AU - Excellent review

A tougher build, faster memory and storage, a more efficient battery, a custom-tuned chipset and a new 200MP main camera hidden behind a familiar design; the S23 Ultra is a more substantial upgrade than you might first realize.
Pros:
  • Bespoke Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, More base storage than predecessor, Functional refinements
Cons:
  • Faster charging would have been nice, Looks identical to predecessor, Seriously expensive

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra Review: Excellence Is Expensive

It's pretty much par for the course these days that those who bought last year's flagship shouldn't feel the need to upgrade twelve months later. That's absolutely the case for the Galaxy S23 Ultra, which tweaks and refines the recipe we saw introduced on the S22 Ultra — but falls short of anything...
Pros:
  • Big, beautiful display, 200-megapixel camera is more than just spec boasting, Latest Snapdragon leaves Android fast and smooth, Long battery life
Cons:
  • Very expensive, Some of the photography features still feel gimmicky, Rivals offer much faster charging

Samsung Galaxy S23 ULTRA 5G (256GB, Lavender) AU - Excellent review

Samsung's Galaxy S23 Ultra doesn't appear to be a big upgrade, but the sum of all of its incremental upgrades makes it a huge upgrade.
Pros:
  • The 200MP camera is actually really good, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is impressive, Best display on a smartphone, so far, The curved display isn't very curved, Best battery life on a Galaxy flagship in quite some time, The One UI 5.1 upgrade is amazing, Feels great in the hand
Cons:
  • Fairly expensive, with a MSRP of $1,199, Charging is still fairly slow compared to the competition, 100x Zoom is still not really all that useful

Samsung Galaxy S23 ULTRA 5G (256GB, Lavender) AU - Excellent review

Samsung is the best at big. Big, brash, bold, kitchen sink phones. The company that mainstreamed the phablet a dozen years ago has never given up on big dreams about big phones. Last year, the company took a risk — sunsetting the beloved Note line.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra Software And User Experience The Galaxy S23 Ultra runs Android 13 with Samsung's One UI 5.1 skin. Although we much prefer Google and Moto’s simple, lightweight, and close-to-stock Android user experience, it’s clear that One UI offers a comprehensive set of features that...

Samsung’s Galaxy S23 Ultra lives up to the Note but can’t move beyond it

The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is a gorgeous premium smartphone that’s easy to enjoy using in spite of its familiarity. It lives up to the legacy of the Galaxy Note but fails to add much to it beyond just megapixels and dollar signs.
Pros:
  • Flatter curved screen, Premium design, S-Pen, Performance and camera improvements
Cons:
  • Steep price tag, No big new features
