The 7200's are notorious for problems so you have to be prepared. These drives were updated by seagate after their production due to on-board circuit problems (or so I read). To date I've purchased 6 total, but two of them were DOA and needed to be RMA'd for new ones.

It is getting increasing difficult to find this size drive anywhere and I was fortunate to find them here at a reasonable price. We have 6 of these drives in a RAID setup and one of them had failed so we needed a replacement quickly. The drive is up and running smoothly and without errors

I have had only good experiences with Seagate Barracuda Hard Drives and this is no exception, it is fast, quiet and with a lot of space, so if you are looking for a good deal (gigabyte per dollar) this is your choice, you won't be disappointed.

I have 4 of these purchased over the last couple of years, all are still going strong (24/7 use most of the time). Haven't had any errors or bad sectors (I move data around a lot, so its easy to notice). Transfer rate is typically 100-125 MB/s for large file transfers.

This product is great! About the 1.43 TB and not 1.5 TB, everyone does that. Its a standard method of specifying storage in industry. Sad but fact!

Completing the read speed tests from AIDA64, the speed is around half of my Intel 320 series 80GB SSD. With the exception of Buffered read. The seek time is much longer compared to the Intel SSD.

This is a great bargain. Worked very well right from the start. Is it the BEST around--no. Is it the best around for the dollar I think so. Plus anytime you can work with Buy.Com so much the better.

This arrived very quickly. Apart from the fact that no fixing screws were supplied (nor is there a SATA lead)it was very straightforward to fit, install and use. It would be good to advise potential buyers that they will need screws and lead. Either that or include them.
