This is a great lens, lets get that out there. Someone mentioned that it is a photographer's lens, and I agree wholeheartedly. This lens is PERFECT for indoor shooting, people shots, and as a general walk around lens.
Pros:
- Sharpness where it counts, light weight (this is relative), focusing accuracy on my copy, and great bokeh
- If you get a good copy you will love it
Cons:
- None worth complaining about
- it vignettes (correctable and typical for this type of lens)
- has some CAs (shoot RAW if you care about it)
- and people complain about corner sharpness
- but if you are trying to get corner sharpness at f/1.4 your probably just shooting brick walls and test charts

Sigma 30mm F1.4 DC HSM "Art"
The Sigma 30mm F1.4 DC HSM "Art" is a fast prime lens designed exclusively for APS-C DSLRs; it's of particular interest to us because its "normal" field of view corresponds roughly to that of a 50mm lens on a film camera.
Pros:
- Fast F1.4 maximum aperture
- Convenient focal length on APS-C
- Beautiful bokeh
- Excellent center sharpness
- Compact and easy to hold
- Minimal vignetting at F2 and above
- Resistant to flare and ghosting
- 4-year warranty (USA
- Very affordable
Cons:
- More distortion that we'd like to see in a premium prime
- Purple fringing near edges/corners
- Low contrast wide-open
- Somewhat heavy given its size
- Average corner sharpness
- Not weather-sealed
- Sluggish autofocus

Bra standardobjektiv för ljussvaga förhållanden
Ett bra objektiv om man vill fota mycket i dåliga ljusförhållanden och klarar sig med en brännvidd på 30 mm.
Pros:
- Mycket ljusstarkt (F1,4
- Brus i höga ISO

Sigma 30mm F/1.4 EX DC HSM Macro Lens for Canon
Perfect lens if it focused properly out of the box. Lens has a little front focus on my Rebel t3i. Sent to Sigma for calibration with camera body still waiting for it to return. Otherwise good quality lens.

Pretty good for the price
If you don't know what you're talking about, don't review products, especially if you claim to have a high level of tech knowledge. Earwigy's criticism that the "depth of field is pretty bad" is a ludicrous statement. Without picking hairs, all f/1.4 lenses will have the same depth of field.
Pros:
- Relatively inexpensive, extremely fast prime
- Autofocus is internal, pretty fast, and quiet
- A little soft wide open, but sharpens up quickly as you stop down
- Nice bokeh
Cons:
- A little soft wide open
- If you upgrade to full frame, the lens is usless

I've had this lens for about two weeks. Not a lot of time to develope an opinion but just some initial observations. It's going to be best as a portrait lens, the focus is sharp and accurate when the subject is close (say 2-12 feet).
